Not Bad but Could be Better, September 14, 2010
This review is from: Shark Infinity Upright Red Vacuum - NV31 - Factory Serviced (Apparel)
We are about to buy a new vacuum and doing much research on similar models. This vacuum, I will say has lasted 5 years, so not bad and love the washable HEPA very much. But in all honesty, hubs usually cleans the unit 'cause I find it cumbersome and messy. I is a heavy model but then I'm a small woman, 5ft nothing, but strong I might add for my small stature. So heavy and clunky and just hated cleaning it.
IT does have really good suction and keeps it well with the attachments. I don't want to say don't buy it 'cause its NOT bad just could be better....would love to see improvements. Hubs seems to love it and wants another one but I'm not sold on buying another one, think I'll go with the Bissell Clean View.

short life, heavy, must empty at every use, August 9, 2011
This review is from: Shark Infinity Upright Red Vacuum - NV31 - Factory Serviced (Apparel)
worked great when we first got it, but the weight soon began to annoy me, especially when I moved into a place with stairs. After only 2.5 yrs the plastic clip that holds the hose broke, the extendable handle doesnt lock anymore so it goes up and down when I push/pull it. The worst part is it overheats after 10 min, so it takes me a looooong time to vacuum the entire house. Finally, because it does actually 'suck' very well, you do have to empty the bag after every use.

Heavy!, April 16, 2011
This review is from: Shark Infinity Upright Red Vacuum - NV31 - Factory Serviced (Apparel)
We didn't buy this vacuum from Amazon, so I can't comment on the shipping. Out of the box this vacuum was HEAVY! I had a cheap ($40) generic brand for 5 years before this one, and it must weigh 1/3 of the Shark Infinity. We vacuumed with the old vac then used our new Shark, and it did manage to suck up some "dust" from the carpet. However, I noticed some lint and small pieces of paper still weren't sucked up by the Infinity. A little disappointing. Once I pulled out the handle to use the detailer, I was able to get the baseboards and window sills nearly spotless. I am concerned that the metal tube will scratch my paint, so using the plastic attachments are a must, which is a little bit of a hassle I didn't have with my old vacuum. Luckily for us, we only have carpet on one floor of our house, so no lugging up and down stairs, which if I had to do that, I would return it, its just too heavy, but I'll keep it since we got it as using rewards points (read: free) and because it does suck. :)
