I purchased the shark because I was having a problem with my hand hurting me for days after scrubbing/cleaning my kitchen, bathrooms and laundry rooms. I would have been satisfied it it did just half of what it claimed on the infomercials. So, I decided to test it out on the small bathroom. I put the white microfiber cloth on the long stick and attached it to the hose. In less than 30 seconds I was wiping hair, and dirt off the baseboards with no effort. I did all the baseboards in under 5 minutes and completed the entire batroom in under 15. After completing the baseboards and floors, I took the microfiber cloth and wand off and used the direct steam to clean the sink, mirror, shower, and toliet. My bathroom floor, baseboards, & entire bathroom have never been cleaner. When I was done I was also imperssed that I didn't even break a sweat or smell like chemicals.

The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that I wish the cord would retract into the device. The cord is really long and I found it often getting in the way when I was down on the floor working on the baseboards. Other than that, this is an awesome machine and it exceeds my expetations!!!

First off - let me say that I have the Shark Steam Mop and LOVE it. I am some what of a clean freak and have tried a million different cleaning products and tools. I was excited when I saw the commercial for this steamer because I have had such great results from the mop. I purchased the unit from Bed Bath & beyond yesterday and cleaned with it earlier this morning - it is going back this afternoon! Each attachment seamed as though it would reach any area I can get to and then some. I cleaned our bathroom first. I used the Wedge tool to clean the counters which worked well enough but I couldn't use the sink because of the round basin shape. I did switch to the long narrow attachment and had better luck but not much. I found it cumbersome to have to turn the wand at so many different angles just to try to get one small area finished. In the shower - the walls were fairly easy to do but again - not on the rounded area. The floor of the shower didn't come remotely clean even after switching to the scrubbing wedge pad. As for the mirrors, the pad designated let the mirror linty and streaky. I used the long attachment to reach around the back of the toilet and was able to reach areas i have otherwise had a difficult time reaching but again the attachments didn't fit well for the job. I read other reviews that people were unhappy having to refill the tank so many times and this is ABSOLUTLY TRUE!! Switching the attachments so many times for one room doubled my cleaning time and I ultimately went back and cleaned many areas over with my typical cleansers. Lastly and VERY, VERY important that it is extremely easy to burn yourself when using this. When using an attachment and holding it flat or upright is not a problem. Yet for areas that you need to invert the attachment cleaning in a downward motion; the steam comes up and burns your hands. The pockets sinch with a cord to keep them on but they a good deal of steam to escape when holding in this angle. I constantly had a problem with this as there were lots of places to clean aiming downwards. I was so frusterated yet tried most of the attachments in order to give it a chance but still wasn't impressed. Hope this helps anyone who is searching for a thorough review.

After purchasing the Shark SC630D Portable Pocket Steam System I decided its first test would be on using the direct steam nozzle. My 20 year old verticle blinds were dirty. Everytime I tried to clean them by hand, it was a losing battle. No matter that I used many cleaning products. The verticles were "dirt stained" & when I would run my fingers over them I could feel the grit. Aiming that powerhouse steam nozzle over them took all the dirt away! They were clesn and felt smooth to boot,like brand new verticles. This is why I give it 5 stars. Admittedly I have only used it once so far, but that alone was worth the price.

This product does a good job in small places, which is what I wanted. I've cleaned inside two ovens and the flat top range: most all burned-on residue came off.
So far, I used the steamer to freshen all the kitchen chair seats too.
The product comes with a large quantity of accessories, which are bulky. But it has a carry-all bag to keep everything togther. It will be some time before I get to try each accessory, but based on performance to date, I recommend it.

The steamer worked perfectly for 3 minutes, one of which was the warm up! Then it stopped dead wouldnt work again. I returned it to Amazon after reading the terms and conditions to return goods and thinking I would be reimbursed for postage. Didnt happen initially, reimbursal was only one tenth what it cost me to return the item. After a few emails I was reimbursed another one tenth as "goodwill", still out of pocket more than if I hadnt bothered to return the item and just thrown it away! I bought this hoping it worked as advertised. Oh my gosh, it didn't clean anything. I used the direct attachment first on a facet fixture. After 10 minutes the calcium build up was still there. I then tried the stiff brush attachment. still nothing. I finally put the steamer down, got my regular cleaner, and after a few seconds I wiped the calcium away. I also tried it on a mirror--forget that! I emptied a whole tank of water trying it on various things to no avail. Nothing got clean. I absolutely hated having to hold the button down which then only gave you one hand to use to try and clean something as well as hold it. I took this back to the store and got a refund. This product did not work for me.

I've only used this once, but so far I really think I like it. It's a little hard to get the hang of it at first, with the cord and the different attachments. I cleaned both my bathrooms, and while this was a bit awkward at first, it really did clean pretty good. My shower is horrible about soap scum, and even the best cleaners have a hard time getting all of it off, but this did a pretty good job. Is it completely soap scum free? No, but it got the majority off and perhaps I'll clean the shower more often now..who knows. At any rate I absolutely loved it on the oven. My oven is self cleaning, but that really doesn't work well and I hate to use oven cleaner. I used this with the concentrated steam attachment and then a wet rag to wipe up the dirt that was loosened and it was really awesome. My oven hasn't been this clean since we bought it. Also did a beautiful job on the sliding glass door, windows, counter-tops, oven door and front of dishwasher. Made them all quite shinny!

Well, I was really optimistic about this steamer.

"I can clean and sanitize the kitchen counters! The fridge, the baseboards! Oh, hallelujah, I can steam-clean the toilet and the cat box!" In one of the reviews I read, someone warned "Whoa! Watch out for flying bits of crap when you clean something really dirty!" Awesome, I can BLAST things clean!

No.

I tried the hose, the wedge tool, and finally just the steam nozzle itself. It didn't seem to have ANY effect until I was actually TOUCHING the surfaces with the nozzle. Then, you could sorta see the steam pressing weakly against the grime. So I'm like, "OK, it'll loosen the dirt and then I'll wipe it off, no prob."

Nah.

I put my hand in front of the nozzle, risking a scalding injury, to evaluate the power of the spray. Well, it was kinda warm, kinda blowy, not really all that wet. Yeah. Dirt is terrified. (Kitties were pretty intimidated, however.)

I got this for Christmas. I've wanted it for months. Unfortunetly this product IS NOT effective at cleaning.
It did NOT remove water marks in shower (as advertised).
Pushes dirt & dust around...so you either have to clean before or after you use it.

Only effective at doubling my cleaning time!

I am returning this product.

If this is supposed to make cleaning easier, it's a miserable failure! I have worked twice as hard cleaning my shower with this only to have to use chemicals and elbow grease anyway. All it does is move hair and lint all around. I have severe arthritis and thought this would help me out....NOT!!!
