100 Shark Super Stainless Double Edge Safety Razor Blades

Shark Super Stainless blades are sharp, smooth and long lasting. The price is right, and since I'm getting a full week of shaves out of a single blade, the price per shave has me smirking every time I walk past the disposable cartridge displays at the local stores.

Perhaps you are just thinking about trying double edge wet shaving, maybe rebelling against the insane cost of cartridge blades, maybe tired of irritating, tedious shaves, maybe trying to connect with a bygone time, then these blades are a tremendous starting point.

If you are already wet shaving with a double edge safety razor, then these blades made by LORD of Egypt are well worth trying. Blade preference varies greatly among wet shavers, and I can't say that these will dethrone your current choice of blade, but I can say that they are a legitimate contender.

Shark Super Stainless blades come in a cardboard five pack, each blade double wrapped, with a very modest amount of adhesive on the blade to hold the inner wax paper sleeve closed.

The consistency of these blades is excellent, and I've yet to run in to a bad blade. They are sharp, not as sharp as the fabled Japanese Feather, but sharp enough to deal with tough beards. They give me a smooth, comfortable shave in a variety of vintage Gillette and Schick razors. They shave well the first time out, and they keep performing for a week of daily shaves. They might go beyond that, but at the price point I just make it a habit to change blades on Sunday.

I'm not a blade snob. I get good shaves with American Safety Razor Personna blades, Korean Dorco blades, German Wilkinsons, Turkish Derby blades, Japanese Feathers and more. The Sharks simply perform as well or better for me as many blades costing a lot more. They make shaving a pleasure, and deliver that sought after "baby butt smooth" shave when I do my part.

A hundred blades should see me through two years of shaving every day, and I do shave every day, even on the weekends because wet shaving has made this a pleasure rather than an irksome chore. I no longer have razor burned skin, and I don't feel like I'm getting nicked just paying for replacement cartridges!

I decided to give the whole DE-shaving thing a try. After looking around, I ended up buying the Parker 96R razor because it reminded me of my dad's gillette from waayyyy back. I also ordered a 10-pack of Sharks (came with the Razor), a 10-pack of Merkur blades, and a 25-pack of Derby blades.

First note - the razor is solid, with a comfortable heft. It also closes up well - though not quite perfectly on both sides - and holds the blades nice and straight while making it trivial to pop a blade in or out.

As to the razors, my impressions after trying out (almost) 2 each. This was to ensure that impressions I had weren't just due to being a tyro. Even with the occasional nick, the shaves have been consistently close (except for the Merkur, I'd wake up the NEXT morning with a closer shave than I'd gotten out of some electrics).

Sharks - Nice, sharp, and I can get several shaves out of them before I start getting razor bumps, hair tugging, or "slips" due to the blade dulling.

Derby - just wow. Nicer, sharper, and not really more expensive. Very happy with them. I almost immediately felt like this blade just glided over my skin effortlessly shaving away my beard.

Merkur - perhaps it was just a matter of fit with the razor, but this is the only blade that consistently felt skittish, the one I consistently nicked myself with the easiest, and the only one I got razor bumps on the very. first. shave.

I actually ended up mentally rating the razors based on how many shaves before they started feeling like the "new" merkur blades - and were, IMO , unusable since I'd start getting the razor bumps from my cartridge days. The sharks would give me three shaves, the derby blades 4, maybe 5.

I've tried Derby, Feather, Lord Classic, Astra SP, Merkur, Kai, Shark Chrome, Personna, Big Ben. These were the best for me, the most comfortable and very smooth. They are very sharp, not as sharp as Feather or Kai, but plenty sharp enough and more comfortable and smoother than Feather or Kai.

From the reviews I've been reading, everyone is different. Try these first in a sample pack. You don't need a 100 in a sample pack. A small sample pack that has 2 a piece is enough to find out if you like the blade or not. I got the 110 sample pack and still have over 90 I haven't gotten around to using. I tried one of each for a while until I got to these and found I liked them much better than any of the others. I got the 100 after a couple of shaves. I was actually a bit surprised I liked these better than Shark Chrome because Shark Chrome is the same Shark brand is supposed to be the better of the two.

Not as sharp as a Feather, but sharper than most of the other brands. Works well, a few nicks getting used to them at first, but after trying a few brands I settled on these.

The sad thing is my review won't help you much. Your skin will determine what brand you want. The best way for me to help you is to say "They're much sharper than a Derby, a little sharper smidge than the Merkur blades but not as sharp as a Feather." Sort of on the high end of mid-range sharp. Which is about right for me.

I use these in a few vintage razors: a Gillette Fatboy and Tech and a Schick Krona. They work very well, especially in the Tech. They're also a great value. I usually get about five shaves out of them. Compare that with the cost of four and five bladed-razor cartridges and you'll see the savings are considerable.

Sharp super stainless blades are one of the best I have used. I have a thick beard and need to shave every day, changing blades every three days. Great product for a great price.

I got tired of increases in blades and price on shaving cartridges I was paying $3.70 for Gillette Fusion and after reading the reviews I decided to give this blades a try at $0.17 the price can't be lower. After a month I shaved half my beard with Fusion and the other half with DE Shark and my wife could not tell the difference so I am happy to save $400/yr on blades and use that money on vacations or fun. I use a new cartridge/DE Shark blade every 3 days. Great product for a great price.

these are great razor blades if you use a safety or butterfly razor. very sharp and hold an edge very long. this is a great price and they shipped quickly. very pleased

Have been using these blades for about three months now in a Edwin Jagger razor. Very satisfactory shave. I have been shaving for some 40 years now and these blades in this razor are as good as any. 100 blades for under $20 is unbeatable. I shave every day and a blade lasts me for about one week (7 shaves) without a problem. I have not used one longer than that but could probably stretch it for one or two more but why bother at this price? I have a heavy beard and these handle it well. Will use them from now on. Hard to believe the price. I was paying over a buck a blade in the pharmacy for 5 or 10 packs of other brands. These are every bit as good and these are about 20 cents each including shipping!

Edwin Jagger Double Edge (DE) Chrome & Ivory Color Handle Safety Razor

I bought these to use in my straight razorParker SR2 Straight Edge Barber Razor/ Shaver with Stainless Steel Blade Arm & 5 7AM Platinum blades. I needed something inexpensive but adequate to do the job. This is a fair price for the blades and they shave wonderfully. Good value and a great shave.
