2.0 out of 5 stars Holy Hannah!!! Please tell me there is a cheat for level 3!
My son begged for this game, and the price is reasonable compared to some games so we added it to our collection. He enjoyed levels 1 & 2, but once we got to level 3 that was it! Unless you have earned the nickname "Fast fingers" or "Fury Feet" don't bother purchasing this until you rent it. I spent an hour trying to beat level 3 for my 6 year old the only thing I...

Unless you have earned the nickname "Fast fingers" or "Fury Feet" don't bother purchasing this until you rent it. I spent an hour trying to beat level 3 for my 6 year old the only thing I discovered was that I did equally as well when I randomly hit the 4 keys as quickly as possible (about 57% accurate) as I did actually keeping up. Being this is only level 3 I can only imagine the "Dance Levels" get harder from here, Good Luck!!!

The gameplay is just foolish and found the game annoying and un-fun! The kids didn't even like it. Run, don't walk away from this dentist-office of a game JAWS-cr@p. (JAWS = Just another W. Smith)

1.0 out of 5 stars rated N for nobody, January 2, 2005
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Shark Tale (Video Game)
This game is a joke! It is immpossible for a child to get past level 3. It took my husband about 20 tries to get past it, and he is a pro at video games. (he beat mech 2 for x-box and halo2 the third time he played them.) Don't buy this game for your kids until you rent it and let them try it out. It is was a waste of money my kids won't even play it. It should be rated N for Nobody!

I played this game and at first I thought it was cool but then the levels started to suck. Like at level 3 it took me a month to beat it then I finally did. And all the other dancing levels got harder and harder but then I finally got it. And the worst part of it is that Oscar wasn't as fresh as he was in the movie.

I beat the game but it was so hard like the dance moves, defeating sharks, avoiding sharks and Ernie and Bernie. Also when I go in the sewer I keep getting lost. One more thing if someone wrote I got a 100% on the dancing I wouldn't believe them.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite movie based games., August 13, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Shark Tale (Video Game)
I really enjoyed this game. I finished within a week because theres alot of things to unlock. Theres still challenges I haven't completed yet though which I'll explain later. The graphics weren't too bad either. The cutscenes consist of interviews of the characters who know Oscar so basically its retelling what happens in the movie. The CGI cutscenes aren't too bad either.

There are 5 types of gameplay in this:

Dancing levels- I had alot of fun with these. It involves waiting for arrows to move to the bottomm of the screen into a circle then pressing it. You need to have rythm to press these on time. The first two are extremely easy, took me only 2 tries because I was getting used to the controls, but as the game progresses they get harder. The songs are Can't touch this-MC Hammer, Car Wash-Rose Royce, I like the way you move-OutKast, and the hardest song Hey Baby by an artist I don't know. MY faves were Outkast and Carwash. Its best to use a controller for these sequences. The better you do the more money you get.

Chase levels- These are 3 of these. Arrows appear on the screen and you have to move quickly to the arrows as they appear so you won't get hurt.

Side Scrolling- The side scrolling levels become more diverse as you progress. Its kind of similar to Finding Nemos side scrolling levels but more open and less linear In some levels you have to be stealthy by finding places to hide then pressing the x button. Some involve searching for other fish. Rather its hiding from the police, popperazzi, or some other task. When damage is taken you just go into doors where other fish restore your health. You can only go into a door once, but if you go in more than once you get some funny dialogue from the inhabitants. Some enemies take timing to defeat. Like the elctric eels for example. You have to wait for thier electric to die down before attacking.

Fighting- There are 3 of these. The 3 one being the hardest. Theres a taunt move that involves holding down x. It regenerates health. You can also pull off combos. Be sure to move left or right to dodge bite attacks. There actually pretty predictable.

Racing: The racing levels are my least favorite (I'm not a fan of racing games unless its Mario Kart). To eccelerate you hold the square button down and move around trying to avoid other "driver" or in this case swimming fish. Not all involve racing another fish. Some involve getting from point a to point b in a set amount of time. Theres these speed whirl pools you swim in to go faster. In one you have to collect stuff as you go.

Each level consist of 3 challenges to complete. These challenges are either killing a set amount of enemies, collectoing a set amount of coins, taking a set amount of damage, or doing really well on a song. They are catagorized as I believe standard, challedging, and expert. As you complete these you rank up. The highest Rank is Oscar (I'm at this). Collecting pearls also help with rank.

Pearls are your currency in the game. With pearls you can go to the extras menu and buy bonuses. Theres alot of them in this game. Most are concept art, character animations, music both orchestrated and by artist, and more.

For me the best thing about this game and that makes me love it even more is the music. Its almost GTA quality music. You have the theme from cops, Funky Kingston, a remix of To Be Real by Cherl Lynn (I was a little disappointed Mary J. Bliges version wasn't in this), The dance level songs mentioned above, the different music that play everytime you go into the extras menu, the music that plays at the start menu, and even the orchestrated music was very enjoyable to me.

I've played Shrek 2, Madagascar, and a few other so its safe for me to say that as a movie based game Shark Tale was really enjoyable and I never got bored with it. The others mentioned above I found disappointing after awhile, but Shark Tale is one I still play. I wouldn't recommend it to kids under 8 years olds, because some parts of the game does take extreme skill to complete, but other than that anyone can enjoy it.
