Not exactly what I was hoping for,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Shark Week: Jaws of Steel Collection [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
Due to an issue with my satellite dish, I didn't get to view much of Discovery's shark week this year, so I decided to purchase this blu-ray disc. Upon scanning through the chapters of the disc, I found most of the content to be reenactments of shark attacks, which I am personally not all that fond of. I find the acting to be terrible and cheesy. I was anticipating more educational and informational programs but unfortunately found these to be outnumbered by reenactments. If you enjoy these reenactments, by all means buy this. But if you're more into educational and informative content, you'll probably be better off with something else.

Dumber and dumber..,
This review is from: Shark Week: Jaws of Steel Collection (Two-Disc Edition) (DVD)
Wow, this series has really gone downhill. I suppose there are very few 'facts' left that haven't already been covered & now they're just milking it. Jaws of steel consists mostly of shark attack re-enactments or worse - 'mockumentaries' which are so obviously scripted and artificial that they are painful to watch. Everyone involved seems to be so doped up on energy drinks that they can barely contain themselves, I guess the producers figured if they could convice the viewers that what they were watching was like.. OMG THE MOST TOTALLY AWESOME INSANE MIND BLOWING THING EVER!!! that we wouldn't realize that we were getting very little in the way of actual information. Another thing that annoys me is when they show the divers underwater speaking via their underwater communication equipment - it's obviously overdubbed and the divers are gesticulating wildly like some kind of rabid morphin power ranger. It's just humorous to see and drives home the fact that this series is being marketed to the younger, caffiene addicted & attention deficient x-treme generation. The awe and majesty of nature and discovery is gone. The only item I really found of interest in this set was one of the bonus features "Sharks Under Glass" which detailed challenges faced by keeping sharks in aquariums. The first Shark Week - even though it wasn't perfect (Anatomy of a shark bite?) was still a hell of a lot more entertaining and educational than this dreck.

misleading info on box,
This review is from: Shark Week: Jaws of Steel Collection [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
I just picked this blu ray up because the box says that it has the cash cab episode with the deadliest catch captains on it. and it clearly doesn't. I dont know it this was an oversight or what but it's what i bought it for and I am disappointed.
