While I had heard good work from the Kudsi Erguner ensemble, the name Nesrin Sipahi was new to me. When I heard her luscious, plummy voice, it was love at first listening. I don't speak Turkish, but the title "love songs" seems right on the mark. I'll keep programming this disc on my radio program Caravan on WSUM FM, Madison, Wis.
