Sharon Rose Gabet was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the forth of nine children, and spent most of her youth in the small farm community of New Haven, Indiana. She received a nursing degree from Indiana/Purdue Fort Wayne Campus and starred in many of their theatrical productions. After completing the MFA Program at Cornell University, Sharon moved to New York City and within one year had landed the role of the irrepressible Raven on the long running daytime serial, The Edge of Night, for which she received two Emmy nominations for Best Actress.
The series ended in 1984 and Sharon continued to play roles on Another World and One Life to Live. She also appeared on The Love Boat and several episodes of Family Feud. To offset her TV acting jobs, Sharon auditioned for and was accepted into the famed Actor's Studio where she worked with Elia Kazan, Lee Strasberg, Ellen Burstyn and Paul Newman.
After her third child was born with autism, Sharon Rose began a twenty-year study and exploration of alternative medicine, holistic healing, spirituality, metaphysics, psychology, philosophy, astrology and astronomy. "I attended a multitude of seminars and worked with many groups," she says. "I wasn't just reading books, I was drinking them." Sharon Rose returned to nursing for ten years and is now a certified yoga instructor trained at Shambhava School of Yoga, Boulder, CO. Her professional resume includes experience as an energy therapist, workshop facilitator, astrologer, actor and author (FROM THE RAVEN TO THE DOVE and SPIRITUAL MAGIC). Sharon has just finished her first play, NIGHT SHIFT. She loves traveling around the world's ancient archaeological sites and lives with her daughter among the California Redwoods.
