Simplify a movie-watching space with this TV-DVD-VCR combo. Sharp's 27DV-S100 offers not only a 27-inch screen with DVD, CD-R/CD-RW, and MP3-CD playback, but also performs VHS recording and playback. And with two-tuner reception, you'll be set to record and view two programs simultaneously. Meanwhile, Sharp's sleek silver cabinet and flat design will surely be the center of attention in any room.
The set's advanced processing of the composite-video signal with a digital comb filter reduces noise and improves color reproduction, while velocity modulation scanning (VMS) improves overall image contrast for video with greater depth of field. The 27DV-S100 is equipped with a coaxial digital-audio output to feed a surround-sound signal to a Dolby Digital- or DTS-decoding AV receiver. When used with a compatible receiver and six-channel speaker system (left, center, right, left/right surround, and subwoofer), the player puts you in the middle of the action.
Front and rear audio-video inputs foster easy hookups with other audio-video equipment, such as cable/satellite receivers, camcorders, and gaming consoles. An included Universal Plus glow-in-the-dark remote operates the TV/DVD/VCR functions as well as audio-video equipment from other manufacturers.

We decided on this product because we had a mix of VHS and DVDs that we wanted to be able to view. And we did not want the extra wiring to mess with. This has been a good choice for our family. The only thing that I am not pleased with, is the first few seconds when the TV is turned on, the color is more red than it should be. But it is only for a few seconds, and I am the only one that seems to notice. Everyone in the family can work the remote easily, this was a concern since the TV,VCR and DVD controls are all separate on the remote. Sharp has done a good job with the remote control displays.
