An Excellent TV,

This review is from: Sharp 36C230 36" TV (Electronics)
When I began my search for a 36 inch TV, I was amazed to see the abundance of new hi tech models, at very high prices. I wanted to pay less than $1000, including a TV stand, which left me with only a few alternatives. Eventually, I narrowed down my choices to the Panasonic CT36E13, the RCA F36650, the Toshiba 36A43 and the Sharp 36C231 (the same model as the 36C230, but in black and grey). The Panasonic was about $100 more expensive than the other three, so I decided to focus on the others. In comparing the pictures of the three remaining candidates, the RCA and the Sharp looked brighter than the Toshiba. The Sharp was a more attractive looking TV and was a little less expensive than the RCA so I went with the Sharp. It was an excellent decision. The picture on the Sharp is good on TV broadcasts, but it really shines on DVD's when you use its component video inputs. It has a 16:9 setting for playing widescreen dvd's, which few TV's in its price range have. Another positive feature of this TV is that the screen is almost flat. From a regular viewing distance, you don't notice any curvature of the screen. I had heard that sound quality on Sharp TV's is poor, but that is not the case with this model, as the sound quality is all right. All in all, I am pleased with my purchase and recommend this TV. |
