The AL-1651CS is a multi-function copier, printer, and scanner, which consolidates these important functions into one machine, saving on both space and overall cost. Perfect for the home office or small business, the AL-1651CS offers a monochrome laser printer that delivers a 600 x 600 dpi print resolution and print speeds of up to 16 ppm. You can print single or double-sided sheets on media up to 8.5 by 14 inches.

The built in copier has a 16 cpm maximum copy speed with a 9.6-second time to first print, and also features double-sided copying. A 25% to 400% zoom allows you to reduce and enlarge copies to your liking, while a 30-page automatic document feeder allows you to copy multi-page documents all at once. An offset stacking function helps you to keep prints and copies sorted and organized.

The scanner has a 600 x 1,200 dpi optical resolution (up to 2,400 dpi interpolated), while the included scanning software helps you to achieve the best results from your scans.

The AL-1651CS has a 250-sheet input capacity, along with a 50-sheet bypass input, and connects to your computer via a USB port. A network Ethernet connection for printing allows you to use the printer as a workgroup device. Compatible with PC operating platforms only, the AL-1651CS also comes backed with a three-year limited warranty on parts and a one-year limited warranty on labor.

Although I bought this unit for $35 used with a page count of 5,000 I have not had any problems with it. I've probably run only 300-400 pages through it but it has always worked properly. I guess the only thing it is missing is a fax function. I don't need one so it's not really missed. I haven't been able to get the IP address for the LAN setup which would be nice to stick the printer in another room... Another interesting thing is XEROX Toners fit this unit and are cheaper on eBay for brand new toners. You have to cut off a plastic pin on the end of the toner to get it to fit. It's hard to say how durable or the quality in these machines since it's not going to see daily office use.
