Sharp AL2030 Digital Laser Copier/Printer

I had to get this copier because my last Sharp would not work with my new 64 bit computer and I had just bought a new drum and toner. The new drum and toner I had just bought worked with this machine. The driver CD sent with the printer did not have the correct driver on it. A tech helper directed my daughter (too complicated for me) to a Polish web site written in Polish to down load the driver.

The rollers are so tight they leave pressed lines on each side of the paper and sometimes the paper just gets stuck. I'm sure it is a small matter to adjust the pressure, but tech help wants me to send it to Chicago!! I have a little home business and I use it every day. Maybe not that much every day, but when I need it I need it. They said if I hire someone locally it will void my warranty. I will not send it to Chicago. I can just imagine what it would look like after UPS or FedX got through with it.

This Sharp AL2010 copier has not worked from the 1st day I got it. Every piece of paper jams and then the machine shuts down, I have to open it up pull the paper out and reset the machine, AFTER ONE PIECE OF PAPER! Now I have to pay 30.00 to ship it back to Sharp.....Live and learn, I THINK THIS MACHINE WAS REFURBISHED, and I was charged brand new!

I have owned one unit for over 4 years and I just bought another due to growth and - I could not be happier. If there is an issue - you just call and they walk you through it.
My humble opinion is you can't do better for cost vs value.

I have two for my business and one my wife has in her classroom at school. These machines have been no problem for me at all. The software installed and ran without any problem under Windows XP. I do not have Vista or 7 installed so I can not comment on those. For the $400.00 I paid for the one with print, scan, copy and printing it is my go to machine. The other two were $299.99 and came with drum and toner which means the machines were free. This is the best machines I have owned in 30 years in business and would buy them again and again. The only thing I wish the scan function worked over my network. As it is I can only scan with a machine connected with a USB cable and only one computer can scan. That's it only fault.

If you like wasting your time and money, or if you have a lot of both, be sure to include this to your shopping list. You will definitely enjoy it.
