On the connection front, the Iomega Sync-powered SharpSync solution allows you to select folders or files on separate machines that you would like to keep in sync with the Actius MM10. Consequently, each time the Actius MM10 notebook computer is placed in its Connection Cradle, Iomega Sync automatically synchronizes those folders between your main computer and the Actius MM10 ultra-portable notebook, ensuring that you always have the latest copy of important files.

Recovery process did not work,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sharp Actius PC-MM10 Laptop (1.0-GHz Transmeta Crusoe TM5800, 256 MB RAM, 15 GB Hard Drive) (Personal Computers)
The laptop crashed. Thanks to the cradle that allows my another computer to read the hard disk through USB, I was able to recover all my data. BUT the recovery CDs did not work. The BIOS seems to ignore the existence of the external CDROM driver no matter how you set the BIOS parameters. It could either be a problem of the CDROM driver or a bug in the laptop's BIOS or bootup program.

I had to send it back because the recovery process (on 2 CD's) did not work. The unit was unable to boot from the "free" CD/RW-DVD unit that comes with the laptop. Tech support was unable to get it to work either. Even though the "free" CD/RW-DVD seemed to work OK within Windows, when I first installed the unit through the USB port, I received a message that I was installing a high-speed device into a low speed port. The laptop is supposed to come with USB 2.0 ports, not 1.1.I am waiting to receive another complete unit. Hopefully the problem was with the "free" CD/RW-DVD and not with the laptop itself. Also, mine had at least one bad pixel. We will see how the other one works. Stay tuned for any updates!

OK product, but won't boot from CD,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sharp Actius PC-MM10 Laptop (1.0-GHz Transmeta Crusoe TM5800, 256 MB RAM, 15 GB Hard Drive) (Personal Computers)
I agree with the previous reviewers. This computer will not boot from an external CD, no matter what BIOS settings you choose. (I was using an external USB CD). I would have thought this is a fairly basic requirement and I'm convinced it's a BIOS bug. I havn't been able to find a patch. Sharp, if you're reading this, it's a shame that such a nice product has been let down by a simple thing. I suggest you fix it quick, before you lose sales.
