Again I find it hard to understand the low reviews here. We plugged this into our TV Samsung flatscreen last night and it worked fine - there were no sound issues. We already had a split left/right-to-3.5mm jack cable; it seemed that our TV didn't want to send the sound out to this, so we plugged that cable directly into our Sky box or DVD box (had to do a switcheroo depending which source we were watching from so that causes an amount of fiddling around the back of the TV cabinet, but it's not massive hassle).

Yes, the power output is less than you might find with more expensive models; ditto, there is no built-in or separate subwoofer so if you like things bass-y this might not be for you. Having said that, the depth of the sound being delivered when watching a film was noticicably better than what the TV could do, and for further comparison we tried it against Logitech 2.1 (two tweeters, one woofer) speakers. The sound bar delivered far more clarity - we didn't have to have it turned up as loud to compensate for the wooliness that came from the Logitech kit. Because of the depth of field that came from the soundbar's 6 speakers it made the film-watching experience feel more cinematic than from either the TV's built-in speakers or the 2.1 system. We also had no problems pairing it with our mobile devices either via the Bluetooth.

Nice sound - enough sound for a large living room. I test it with movies, music of a few genres: classic, heavy metal, drum and base. Enough bass, not too much, but you will not want aditional subwoofer. I really liked auto on/off option. It works perfectly with bluetooth devices. I really liked fast delivery to Russian Federation - our goverment post working with a speed of turtle, even a EMS, so 7 of delivery days for me it's a sonic-speed. I think i can recommend this soundbar and the whole Amazon. Goodluck to you, comrades.

This sound at was returned because it did nothing to improve the sound on my /Sharp 50" Smart TV. In fact, the sound from the TV speakers was better than the sound bar Would not recommend.

Speakers have no bass sound. My PC speakers sound better. Sharp no longer seem to make any decent products.
Stay away.

This sound bar shuts off on its own for absolutely no reason. It's incredibly annoying when your trying to watch a show or movie and the volume turns off every 15 minutes.

This sound bar uses a 3.5 mm jack for sound input...no digital optical connection! Most TV's that have a 3.5 mm jack use it for PC input, not sound output! This is not a best choice even if you have a Sharp TV

I don't really understand the low ratings on this product, having seen other sound bars in stores. For the price, I think it's excellent. I have used it with a 40" Vizio that has lousy sound and it's a huge improvement, particularly if you connect the original source (Blu-ray, DVR or TiVo) directly to the sound bar. There is plenty of volume, adequate bass for the size, and the sound is extremely clean and pleasant.

You have to supply your own computer to sound bar cable (RCA to mini plug). Is that such a big deal, really? Amazon sells them for around $3.

Bluetooth works perfectly. The remote is a little tinny but it works. The sound equalizer settings are useful and the whole thing is a big improvement if your TV sound isn't great. I also used it with a 24" Samsung and that was even better than with the Vizio. I like this thing. I think those who griped about it didn't understand what it is and expected the same thing as a theater system.

The photos are of some other model. You can find pictures of this sound bar at the Sharp-USA web site.

Sound quality disappointing . video, music, news control no difference . Remains the same in changing. I have a Smart vizio TV and not pleased with sound also SRS. This why I tries the Sound Bar. You have to spend a considerable more to obtain quality sound. This was in my budget range, on ss retired. Respectfully Rodger with a "D"

This sound bar (as the 1st 2 reviews state), is not designed to function/perform its purpose of providing sound. I mean it will take a TV producing sound and shut that off ok hooked up though the headphones jack which is only jack that will operate the bar for power, etc. IS THAT CLEAR? I have called Customer Service & they agree with everything I say & get to the point of "all there is left is to provide me an RMA#" & refund my money. Unfortunately, I took 3 weeks just to open box & try it out and exceeded Amazon's return policy of the 30 days.
Customer Support for Sharp Sound bar has tried everything short of blocking my phone to make me give up on getting a refund, example: 1st thing discussed is "if we get disconnected, you will just call me back correct" OH YES OF COURSE, well it is built into Sharp's business plan to do things like say "hello?" "I can't hear you, are you there? I am discontinuing this call" BUT they will call me back right? WRONG, they had no plan to, or ever call back.......They have a "static/bad connection act<CLICK>", there is more techniques up their sleeve
One phone system for first time in its 9 year history someone cannot hear from my end, give benefit of doubt right? So I tried 2 different phone systems making a total of 3 and on each one I got the "Hello?" "I can't hear you are you there? I am discontinuing this call." Again, no return call. Statistically not possible.

I could go on forever on Sharp but they will NEVER get another penny from me or anyone asks me about them. I had a promise from someone I googled in Sharp Management today, he absolutely PROMISED "I will call before end day, if not there will leave you message" I carried that phone every second of the day and NO CALL. Was he a liar? Liar is a strong word but I am sorry, Sharp has taken me into this type thing as a matter regular events, their word is worthless/ZERO and I AM GOING to say YES, he was a liar......enough is enough!!!!!

Sharp WAS a good company, my wife & I love the 40+ inch Flat Panel we have upstairs but had to get sound bar for it also but all is well with that one, that was bought 5-8 years ago though.
I have few more things to try BUT do NOT purchase the SB30, it's remote turns on and adjusts volume, nothing more, and is so cheaply made I think a candy store made it.
Sharp? I gave you 1000 times the chance for this review to not be written, you chose this to be written so live with it.

I bought this one on base at a really good deal and thought I'd try it out. It was easy to install but only when I realized they did not provide a good audio cable for it. Yes, as the other reviews stated - you get a audio cable that is suitable for a computer. Unbelievable. So I hike over to WalMart and get one that will work - the one with the white and red, and the instructions are a little confusing to figure out which outlet I need to plug into. I figured it out - you have to plug into the audio output. I have a Sharp Aquos tv and there are numerous jacks. So I played the guessing game. Then when I got it running - I guess when you buy something with 40W-this one doesn't disappoint but I don't know if it's the remote (and I agree it must've been made at a candy store) or what, but it's really loud and I have it at the lowest setting. I've got my TV down to zero which also controls the soundbar - it's at the lowest setting. Even at the lowest setting you have to talk loud if you are trying to have a conversation. I think I just might visit Radio Shack and see if there's something - maybe a remote that can turn it down even lower.

So, if Sharp had provided a decent cable and possibly a decent remote - this would be a great buy. When you buy something you shouldn't have to run around town trying to figure out how to get it working in the first place and you would think Sharp would provide a decent remote. Shame on Sharp - they used be a name that meant quality. I'm disappointed in you!
