The footprint may be small, but the LC-13S1U-B is outfitted with a big-time feature set. The package starts with the 13-inch active matrix LCD screen, which is bright (430 cd/m2), crisp (500:1 contrast ratio), and impressively resolute (480 x 640 pixel resolution) for such a small TV. The AQUOS LCD engine is an added bonus, as it's engineered to display the same vivid pictures in both dark and bright locations, such as near windows, doors, and other light sources. The TV also features wide 170-degree viewing angles--so viewers can watch TV from virtually anywhere in the bedroom, office, or kitchen--along with progressive-scan compatibility, which lets owners of modern DVD players enjoy 480p images in full clarity.

The TV comes with an easel-type stand that's a mere 6 inches deep for space-limited settings. Users who want to save even more space can remove the stand and mount the monitor on a wall (brackets sold separately). Additional features include a built-in 181-channel tuner, a sleep timer, V-chip parental control, and a trilingual onscreen menu. The monitor's audio package is also solid, with a pair of 2.1-watt speakers, MTS stereo decoding, and the ability to play secondary audio broadcasts when available.

The model connects to other audio/video devices through the component video input (ideal for DVD players and satellite dishes), S-video input, and two composite inputs. The LCD TV is also Energy Star compliant.

I bought this little TV thinking it would be a great space saver sitting on my kitchen counter. Well, what they don't tell you is that there is a very large power supply that comes with it. The power supply is about one third the size of the actualTV. So if you want to wall mount it, you need to hire an electrician to hide it in the wall or cabinet. The picture is clear but the sound is a bit tinny. Overall, it serves the purpose it was intended for.

This tv has an excellent picture. Sharp with deep colors. From some reviews i read before buying this one, i was expecting a huge and encombersome power supply. The power supply measures exactly 5 1/4"x 2 1/2"x 1 1/2" thick. Seems very reasonable to me. I bought this tv for the van and it works directly off the van's 12v cigarette lighter plug. {The 12v power cords are easily obtainable in truck stops}. When we turned that tv on the first time, my wife and i both said wow. I give it five stars.

This TV is sharp(pun intended. It has been flawless since last Xmas. I think the sound is great too! It also moves very nicely from the kitchen to the porch and our camper. My wife loves it because it is so light. I also bought a very small dvd player for it. The power supply is large but I expected that and find it to be no problem. The viewing angle is also very good. I think it's a great buy. I got mine refurbished at a great price.
