It has a built-in ATSC tuner that pulls HD signals right from the airwaves (via an optional antenna), and its QAM tuner is fully compatible with unscrambled HDTV cable reception. A standard analog NTSC tuner receives standard-definition (SD) programming. This set features Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View (ASV) LCD panel technology, which uses an enhanced color filter that permits more light throughput. The screen also offers a low-reflection coating to reduce the effect of sunlight and interior lighting to provide vivid large-screen pictures wherever you install your LCD television.
The LC26DV20U delivers a true 1366 x 768-pixel HDTV resolution (capable of displaying 1080i and 720p high-definition signals), and it also features a wide 170-degree viewing angle, 450 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating--perfect for viewing colorful details in even direct sunlight--12ms (millisecond) response time, and 800:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.)
It has two bottom-mounted stereo speakers that produce 10 watts of total audio power (5 watts per channel) and can provide SRS WOW virtual surround sound for an enveloping movie night experience. Other connection options include:
Tech Talk
HDMI is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your TV--all over a single cable. HDMI supports standard, enhanced or high definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It supports all ATSC formats--standard (SDTV), enhanced (EDTV), and high (HDTV).
Component video (also called Y/Pb/Pr) features a three-jack video input, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections. You will need a separate RCA left/right audio cable for sound.

This review is from: Sharp LC26DV20U 26-Inch LCD HDTV with Integrated ATSC Tuner and DVD Player (Electronics)
This TV has a clear crisp picture and great sound quality. Good value for the money too! BUT, there is a 3-5 second delay waiting for channels to change. That may not sound like a lot of time but when you want to channel surf, it is a real pain. There is also no button on the remote for switching back to the last channel viewed. Had I know about these inconveniences, I would have purchased a different brand.

Great Picture, Great Combo TV, Can't Channel Surf!,

I love the picture this TV gives. Great deal for the money you pay. Unfortunately when you want to channel surf, it takes forever to change channels. I tried using the automatic channel programming mode, but it did not make channel surfing any faster. Overall I really like this TV for the fact that we mounted it on the wall and the dvd player is already connected. If you want a spacesaver at a good price this TV is definately worth it.

I would have given this TV 4 stars until a few days ago, when the DVD player failed, 10 months after purchase. Sharp will pay for replacement parts but I will have to pay for labor -- basically a blank check. It is really rare to find an electronic product nowadays that fails so quickly, and consumer magazines always say to reject extended warranties. I thought I could rely on that famous Japanese quality but now that everything is made in China, I guess not. I think all-in-ones are great space savers and clutter avoiders, but if you get one you sort of have to live in fear of taking the entire thing in for one component failure, and that is what has now happened.
I agree with everyone who said the delay between switching channels is annoying. Also, sometimes when switching channels the TV goes completely black, and I have to turn it off and turn it on again. These are not HUGE problems but over time they do make the TV less fun to have around.
