4.0 out of 5 stars Great Picture, Great Combo TV, Can't Channel Surf!
I love the picture this TV gives. Great deal for the money you pay. Unfortunately when you want to channel surf, it takes forever to change channels. I tried using the automatic channel programming mode, but it did not make channel surfing any faster. Overall I really like this TV for the fact that we mounted it on the wall and the dvd player is already connected. If you...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great TV except for two things
This TV has a clear crisp picture and great sound quality. Good value for the money too! BUT, there is a 3-5 second delay waiting for channels to change. That may not sound like a lot of time but when you want to channel surf, it is a real pain. There is also no button on the remote for switching back to the last channel viewed. 1.0 out of 5 stars DVD Player failed, July 7, 2007

This review is from: Sharp LC26DV20U 26-Inch LCD HDTV with Integrated ATSC Tuner and DVD Player (Electronics)
I would have given this TV 4 stars until a few days ago, when the DVD player failed, 10 months after purchase. Sharp will pay for replacement parts but I will have to pay for labor -- basically a blank check. It is really rare to find an electronic product nowadays that fails so quickly, and consumer magazines always say to reject extended warranties. I thought I could rely on that famous Japanese quality but now that everything is made in China, I guess not. I think all-in-ones are great space savers and clutter avoiders, but if you get one you sort of have to live in fear of taking the entire thing in for one component failure, and that is what has now happened.

I agree with everyone who said the delay between switching channels is annoying. Also, sometimes when switching channels the TV goes completely black, and I have to turn it off and turn it on again. These are not HUGE problems but over time they do make the TV less fun to have around.

2.0 out of 5 stars HDMI port unreliable, February 21, 2007

Maybe it's just the one I got, but my HDMI port seems to be very unreliable. Most of the time it will be working fine, but once in a while for no reason, the screen goes black and stays black for an extended period of time. If I switch back to using component cables, it works immediately, but the picture with component cables always looks noticeably worse. I have tried connecting it to my cable box with 2 different HDMI cables, and connecting it to two different computers with a DVI to HDMI cable.

The same thing happened each time, so I don't think it was the cable or the source of the HDMI input that had any problems.

So basically I'm stuck watching it with component video, which does not look very good.

5.0 out of 5 stars TV/DVD combo makes perfect sense, March 8, 2007

This review is from: Sharp LC26DV20U 26-Inch LCD HDTV with Integrated ATSC Tuner and DVD Player (Electronics)
IT'S SURPRISING how few combination TV and DVD players there are on the market because it makes perfect sense. I am so sick of extra cords and extra devices that when I saw the Sharp Aquos, I knew that this feature would be the deciding factor for me. And I was so right. Every time I turn the TV in a different direction, I am thankful that I don't also have to adjust another object and its cord. (Where the TV sits, it serves the desk or the bed, and I move it frequently.) The DVD Player is ridiculously unobtrusive, elegant and easy-to-use. The TV's control's are located on the top edge, not on the side or bottom as they usually are, and it is very practical and convenient to have them so accessible. Naturally, it is also very svelte and handsome in addition to being well-balanced and portable. Don't have a HD connection, but the picture is just fine for me without it. (I won't be having 30 of my close friends over to critique movies on a regular basis.) But if I want it, it's there. By the way, this flat panel Sharp Aquos TV was a replacement for a recently deceased monstrously heavy and unweildly set. I do so LOVE flat panel technology!

5.0 out of 5 stars Well built, great picture and solid DVD player, May 2, 2008
This review is from: Sharp LC26DV20U 26-Inch LCD HDTV with Integrated ATSC Tuner and DVD Player (Electronics)
There have been some reviews that stated the Audio is poor. I do not agree and wonder if they realized the continued scroll down choices for enhanced audio selections. Another negative that I read was that some have stated the DVD player doesn't play certain discs. This too is not the case, the DVD player played +R +RW as well as -R and -RW discs. The remote is user friendly and offers all features needed. The only minor disappointment was there is no last channel viewed button. Granted there is a slight pause between channel up or down but that is due to the tuner having to switch from analog and digital stations. AS of February of 2009, re-program your stations to be all digital and the delay will improve.
Lastly, the picture. This HDTV (with Over the Air reception) performed and looked great. The blacks are black and quality is superb. A great price, and good investment for that den, bedroom, office. This HDTV does not offer computer connection.

it was very to set-up and now we receive about three times the amount of channels. watching shows in HD is so much nicer and watching letterboxed films on dvd looks fantastic. we managed to purchase this tv right when it was discontinued for half-off. it was a total bargain and we're very happy with it.

The ordering, the shipping and the TV itself was a nice experience. I've had the TV for over a month now and it has been a nice experience.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good buy for the money...., March 12, 2007
This review is from: Sharp LC26DV20U 26-Inch LCD HDTV with Integrated ATSC Tuner and DVD Player (Electronics)
I bought this TV about a month ago. Its really a very nice HDTV for the small price. No problems whatsoever till now.I play my Wii, watch movies and listen to music without any hassles. Yeah there is a delay between switching channels but you could live with that. I am using an HDMI cable without any problems. The built-in DVD player is really good too. And its definitely lightweight too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just OK, September 24, 2009

This review is from: Sharp LC26DV20U 26-Inch LCD HDTV with Integrated ATSC Tuner and DVD Player (Electronics)
This is an OK TV. The picture is good. However the sound quality is terrible especially if you are watching a movie. And I hate it that there is no last button on the remote control to switch back and forth between channels, so annoying. It's a pretty thick TV so doesn't look very nice on the wall. Overall just an average TV.
