3.0 out of 5 stars Can't be viewed from low angles
As soon as the TV was connected and powered on I realized it would be going back immediately. This TV incorporates a display that can't be viewed from lower viewing angles--a problem when mounting the TV at a location above eye level. It's a similar phenomenon on many lap top computers. It may an intentional design in order to consume less energy. The lesson I learned...

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect, December 3, 2008
This review is from: Sharp LC26DV24U 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV with Built-in DVD Player (Electronics)
This TV is very easy to set up and the difference in HD and regular channels is definitely noticeable. The sound is great - others complain about the sound not going high enough but we have had no problems with the sound and the TV is in our living room. The DVD is definitely a HUGE bonus and I would not buy a flat screen unless it has this option - it eliminates the need to purchase a DVD separately and have another electronic piece to place somewhere.

One setback: there is no 'recall' button on the remote, but compared to the overall positives about this TV, this issue is minor and almost unimportant and I would recommend this TV for bedroom use or living room use in a small apartment.

The lesson I learned from this TV is that not all LCDs are created equal. I now realize the importance of test viewing any TV. When I went to the local Sam's club to see what they had, I employed my new found knowledge to test all the TVs. Out of the 2 dozen sets, there were only a few that had this viewing limitation, but it is a limitation that needs to be considered before mounting the TV in higher locals.

4.0 out of 5 stars So far, so good., September 8, 2008

After a few weeks of limited use (bedroom TV);

Picture is great. Sound is ok for smaller, quiet room. Remote is not the best: no channel return button to go back and forth. Lag time when switching channels is a bit too long for my liking. DVD works and plays well. Very convenient.

5.0 out of 5 stars a Big Hit, November 21, 2008

This beauty is hanging in our master bedroom. The display (in glorious HD) is a huge step up over the tv/vcr combo we had previously and the dvd player is easy to operate. The only negative is that our cable remote has no codes for these kinds of combo players. Not Sharp's fault.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great bedroom television, January 9, 2009

Did all the research, was going to get the better reviewed 22 inch, but the husband wanted a slightly larger screen, so we popped for this one. I would have loved to have bought it online, but went the Best Buy route (don't like internet returns). Great picture (the reviews that you have to keep it at eye level are correct - 1 ft above, and the screen is a blur), audio is fine unless your bedroom is a cathedral, and the DVD player is completely quiet (no noise while being used).

Cons: Delay in switching....even turning on. I am being picky, but it takes a while to turn on when you push the power button (longer than normal), remote is not the most ideal, but is workable.

Would buy it again in a heartbeat (online - cause it is cheaper).

1.0 out of 5 stars LONG DELAYS and REMOTE SUX, March 30, 2009
By

This review is from: Sharp LC26DV24U 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV with Built-in DVD Player (Electronics)
LONG DELAYS BETW/ CHANNELS:
- 2-SECOND DELAY when pressing channel up/down.
- 4-SECOND DELAY when entering the channel#. Not sure if this is b/c the remote doesn't have an enter button.

REMOTE SUX:
- lacks ENTER button
- lacks a LAST CHANNEL/RETURN button
- sellers should start posting a pic of the remote also!

I thought I could live with the DELAYS, but it was intolerable after a while. I ended up buying a refurb'd Vizio for my room and moved this one down to the kitchen, which was ok since I mounted it to the wall and can watch DVD's there now without any clutter of adding a dvd player.

This LCD HDTV is excellent! The picture is so clear and bright. The sound is good. It looks fantastic. The 26" is perfect as a living room TV and the picture is great from all angles. I would strongly recommend this TV. The remote is very good, but doesn't have a last channel recall button and isn't really a big deal. It was easy to set up and get going. The DVD player is an excellent bonus! The stand is very secure. Everything about this TV is great quality. It looks like it would be heavy, but is actually pretty lightweight. I am so happy with my purchase. Nice job Sharp.

I previously had a 20" CRT, so this is an upgrade in size and my first high definition TV. I love the sharpness and clarity of color and widescreen. Even at about 12 feet away, the picture is easy to see clearly. I use it for DVDs and it works great for me. I don't subscribe to TV programs, so can't comment on how it is for that. The remote buttons are not easy to see in the dark, so I keep a small flashlight handy.

Love my Sharp LCD/DVD combo unit. It produces a vivid picture and the DVD player works well. This is my third Sharp LCD TV, a 32,26 and 22 inch models. I have owned Sharp products before and am impressed with their quality. I would highly recommend Sharp LCD TVS to anyone in the market for a high quality LCD TV.

I bought this television to replace an older 26" Sharp Aquos. I think this one actually looks better than the (more expensive) Aquos. Perfect size for my bedroom. I love being able to pop a DVD in the side and it fires right up. No extra cables and no extra box. This thing is awesome. I paid only $420 from the Amazon Warehouse site. The condition said Used - Mint, but from what I could tell it had never even been opened. Perfect right out of the box.
