Amazing Flat Screen so far,

I saw that Amazon was selling this product and it was a really good price. I had been looking around and was not happy with the small Televisions I saw at the stores - they just seemed cheap. The picture was bad and the sound was poor. Based on specs of this new screen I decided to order it, sight unseen.
Man am I happy! First - the picture is beautiful. The colors are not fake, the skin tones are great and the picture is razor sharp. I am very picky about what passes for quality these days on flat screen panels, and this one is amazing. Sound is bit pitchy, but its not horrific. I hooked it up to my computer to test that and things were amazing as well - was able to play FPS action without any problems. Delivery was great. I ordered on Friday morning and had it ready to go on Tuesday Night. I will come back if there are any issues but so far so good!

Calibrate it, love it!!,

Was totally dissatisfied with this set out of the box. Almost returned it to the store because the picture was so dark. After many failed attempts to adjust it, I finally found the right settings and now the picture is gorgeous! Here's what I found. First and foremost, turn off the OPC! This function is totally useless and only drives the set into the dark abysmal! Secondly, under the advanced settings, adjust the color temp to high. Finally, go to the power settings and click on power saving and select off. Bottom line, this set suffers from the Green Monster. They have programmed many energy saving features into this TV and all they do is make the picture dark. Now for the final tweak, I found on a forum that any THX dvd has a calibration feature on it. Running through this really makes the unit perform well. I used Finding Nemo and now all my Pixar films look almost 3D. To address the other comments about this TV, yes the remote is a bit toyish but it is laid out fairly well. I have no problem finding the buttons I need in the dark, many of them have a raised feature that makes this possible. The set itself looks very nice in my bedroom. One final note, it has a nice stand that is reinforced with metal, unlike many others that are all plastic. Great value for the money, I scored it for $238.00 at the BX on base because the box was damaged. Almost forgot, the sound quality is also top notch, my son even commented on how it sounded better than his Hitachi that cost quite a bit more..
Just remembered one more item of interest. Many people have commented that there is no listing for this set on the website for software updates. I called Sharp about this and found out that if you scroll to the bottom of the model number listing you'll find "item not listed". By selecting this you can input the model number. There are currently no updates to the firmware, but at least now I know how to check for them.

One of the Very Best,

I have had this TV for a bit over a month now. I have no complaints whatsoever. The picture is fantastic, clear and vivid. The color is true and the picture adjustments seem limitless. Set up was a snap. All my devices work flawlessly -dvd, vcr, computer, Roku etc. I love this TV. It really is next generation and at the price represents the best value for me. I looked at many, many HDTV offerings before selecting the Aquos. I am very glad I did. It's better than most costing hundreds more. The only negative I can find is the sound quality. It is a little weak but no more than others in this size. It is a very small gripe because I run the sound through a set of compact computer speakers with a sub and it sounds great.

Have had this set for about 5 months now and am happy with it. PC mode is really easy and the picture is great. Initial setup was simple, even though the owners manual was worthless. I like the OPC feature a lot as this is in an area of my house that has frequent light changes. My one gripe is about the model itself. There is no real support on the Sharp website and thus no support for me to use my Harmony One remote. I wanted to just check for software updates on the Sharp site; "model not found" was all the website said no matter what format I typed in. The store I got mine from said this was the newest model, but now I wonder if it is just a "gap" model. Anyway, great TV for the money, I just wonder if I should have got the Samsung I was looking at first....

Outstanding Unit,

The picture quality is quite sharp and colors are brilliant on this TV.
The unit was easy to set-up upon arrival: just screw in some bolts to attach the stand to the TV. The stand seems to be sturdy. This unit includes several different types of inputs, including: RCA, three HDMI, component, PC, coax. All of the inputs mean that it is easy to plug several different things into it and not have to keep unplugging to do something different. We currently have a Wii, upconverting DVD player, a computer, standard cable, and a Nintendo 64 plugged into it. Anyone with a widescreen knows the annoyances with trying to watch TV signal in 4:3 format on your 16:9 TV. This TV has input setting called "S. Stretch" that fills up your TV with the 4:3 without stretching the signal out too far or cutting off the top and/or bottom of the signal. Something that is not always handled as well on other widescreen TVs. I also like the remote that comes with the unit. It quickly become quite intuitive for me and included a couple of good features. For instance, you can "freeze" the image on the screen (it doesn't pause TV like a DVR, but is more like taking a snapshot of what's on your screen while the live feed continues on) - not a "must have" feature, but kind of fun to use when you want to debate whether or not the football player was in or out-of-bounds or to read the note Chuck Lorre always puts up at the end of "The Big Bang Theory." Also, the remote has 4 color-coded buttons where you can set your favorite channels (up to 4 on each button) for the ability to quickly scroll through the channels you watch most. Overall, I'm a proud owner of this TV and would recommend it.

Received defective product,

Ordered this TV and received within the promised timeframe. Upon hooking it up, noticed that there was a bright red "crack" from the top edge of the LCD screen going about 2/3rds of the way down. It seemed like the screen was broken, but upon closer inspection it is probably the "crystal" in the LCD that has cracked. The crack looks just like one on a car windshield, except that it glows red when the TV is turned on. Especially noticable when subject matter is darker.
Have requested for a replacement since I think the TV is still a good buy based on reviews on other web sites. Will post update once the replacement is received. UPDATE: Amazon's replacement service is excellent. Received replacement TV within 3 days and it is easy to send back the defective item. Have hooked the new TV up and it works great. Here are the pros & cons. PROS: Good bedroom TV. Sound is ok, but would not be adequate in larger (living) room. Picture is very good and but had to make some adjustments to bring it to our liking. CONS: Clumsy remote and very very small font on text that displays when you press MENU (to adjust settings etc.) I have to sit at 6 feet or less to work through the menu items. Overall, a good buy for the money and a great 2nd TV.

The TV arrived quick, in perfect condition, well packaged and at a fair price for an AQUOS. In my opinion there is nothing better than an AQUOS. The TV is made to process both digital and analog broadcasting and that is especially great in this time of cross over. In my area very little is broadcast digital and therefore I have a beautiful picture on any channel without having to pay the extra to the cable company for digital service and without making any adjustments to the TV for it knows what do to with both signals. I am extremly happy with Technology Galaxy and with Sharpe Manufacturing for this TV set and its availability. Set-up was plain and simple as with all Sharpe Aquos. I consider myself a lucky man and am happy to have Amazon also. I find most of what I am shopping for here and will be a customer for years to come. Thank You!

This is a good TV for my bedroom.. It has a timer so it will shut off after an hour or whatever time is set and you can also set it to "audio only" so the picture doesn't brighten the room too much & you can listen to your TV show to fall asleep to.
I do wish it had a "wake-up" feature like my old sharp TV so I could wake-up to the news! The sound leaves a lot to be desired so I bought a Sony sound bar & woofer and it is great now.

Terrible Disappointment,

I will preface this review by saying that I don't know much about TVs. I purchased this model because I have had great experience with Sharp Aquos in the past.
The picture is WAY. TOO. DARK. Adjusting the contrast and brightness blew out the color and everything looked over-exposed. There was no setting at which the brightness looked good; it was either washed out or too dark. The problem is that we did not have the option to adjust the blacklight for some reason. The set also attracted dust in a way I have never seen before. The glossy coating is rather cheap and "lumpy" looking - there are imperfections that cause light to reflect in a warped manner. It just looked cheap and poorly constructed. We returned the set and ordered the Samsung 32" 720p Samsung LN32B360 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV and it is PERFECT.
