Product Description

From the Manufacturer

This display is both a full-function LCD TV with 181-channel TV tuner, and a superior quality LCD computer monitor. You can easily connect any video source including DVD players, VCR's, camcorders, cable or satellite TV, in addition to your personal computer.

The LL-M17W1 uses a extremely bright (400 cd/m2) 17-inch WXGA LCD with wide viewing angles (170 degrees horizontally and vertically) and high contrast ratio (600:1), which displays clear images from any viewing angle. A built-in carrying handle lets you easily carry the monitor to different rooms in the house, like from your bedroom to the living room, depending on the video source. In addition, a protective panel is provided to ensure bright pictures and protect against bumps and scratches when moving the monitor.

With a touch of a button on the remote control, these monitors can be switched to power saving mode ("Dark Mode") that reduces unnecessary screen brightness and lowers power consumption. They also place less burden on the environment than ever before, with the use of non-halogen material for the main unit cabinet and do not utilize Styrofoam packing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent LCD Monitor and TV, December 5, 2004
This review is from: Sharp LL-M17W1 17-Inch WXGA LCD Computer / TV Monitor (Electronics)
I recently purchased this monitor, and it has been working exceptionally well. It is a very versatile monitor, and is especially useful for tight areas where space can be limited. I enjoy the many features this monitor offers. The setup for the monitor went smoothly; however, I would recommend reading the manual to make sure everything was set up properly. I realized that my video card doesn't support the 1280 x 768 screen resolution, so I decided to use the 1024 X 768. I would recommend anyone interested in purchasing this monitor to check their video card to make sure it supports 1280 X 768 resolution. I have watched several DVDs, and the monitor has worked very well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Monitor, December 19, 2004
This review is from: Sharp LL-M17W1 17-Inch WXGA LCD Computer / TV Monitor (Electronics)
I just purchased this at a Home Depot for, get this $169. It was on close out. I just got the last of 3 remaining. I thought I would have to get a new video card but didn't. It loaded easy and works perfect. This is a wide screen but for now the picture does not fill in completly. I have a black margin left & right about 1" or so. I have not hooked it up to a TV, I'm just enjoying it off the 10 yr. old Gateway CP. Keep your eye out if this goes on close out. It was not advertised just sitting up in front of the store. So you never know!!

This review is from: Sharp LL-M17W1 17-Inch WXGA LCD Computer / TV Monitor (Electronics)
I bought this monitor from j and r over the phone which saved my 10 dollars on my purchase and since i live in nyc i picked it up from the store, downtown. I was so excited to plug it up noticing how beautiful the outside design was beautiful. I hooked everything up and found the picture to be terrible. I fixed the contrast, brightness to the best possible and the picture became a bit more clear however, i still noticed the blurriness whenever there was fast motion and text is still pretty blurry. In addition, the picture is very grainy and does not have much color depth.

I thought maybe it was just the TV, but I was wrong. I used the monitor function, and found the quality of the monitor was even worse! I tested some text by opening an internet explorer window. The text seemed to blur every other character, and when I moved the window around the blurriness would move as well.

Overall, this monitor is mediocre and will be returning it promptly.
