Our family purchased this microwave oven after much research, and it actually is better than what I thought it would be! The instuction manual is easy to follow and understand, so I began cooking a perfectly baked potato within two minutes after plugging it in. The outer housing design is sleek and unobtrusive, and easy to clean and read. The inside is larger than expected, so I am happy it can defrost large cuts of meat and poultry efficiently. I like the step-by-step l.e.d. instructions that pop up as the food is defrosting or cooking. There's no more outer edges of foods getting too cooked, it is evenly defrosted and/or cooked throughout. The bell that dings is very quiet, as is the motor. The preset functions are very helpful and accurate. For the price, the quality is excellent. Sharp makes this an excellent choice for those families that use a microwave oven daily. We use ours morning, noon, and evening!

This Microwave oven gets my highest rating even though Amazon only allows for five stars the oven is extremely fast and has the largest capacity for the price, also the quietest microwave oven I have ever heard or owned, I am amazed at the speed of cooking and reheating it can do and Amazon has the best and lowest price of any website I researched on, oven has a clock which was not stated on the description on the amazon page where it is located on there is however downfall to this microwave oven which I was very surprised to have witnessed for such an innovator of this type of oven they are known for their carousel that it did not have a luud beep when the oven is finished cooking or reheating you really have to be in a room that is very quiet to hear this beeping sound for when the oven is finished but all in all great oven great price and lots of cooking and reheating settings and loads of interior space, I was even able to put a Visions cookware pot in there without damaging the sides of the oven while the turntable is in motion which I thought I would not be able to do prior to receiving the oven I did have a concern that I would not be able to use this particular pot in there because of damage it could cause but I was pleasantly surprieed I was able to put it in this oven If you own a lower wattage microwave oven and you purchase this one you will also need to adjust your times by at least half the amount you already use on your current oven, I also love the minute plus setting, if you make a mistake in your time you can press this button to add one more extra minute everytime until you reach the desired time, it is very handy if you are not sure just how much more time you need with your cooking and don't want to have to go all through the steps again to reset and start over this button is so easy just one press and you get an extra minute I completely recommend this Microwave oven ot everyone, I just hope it last twenty years like my old Amana microwave did

I have used the smaller microwave from Sharp and loved it. Lasted 11 years. Would not consider using any other brand. This microwave is an upgrade model, larger and at a great price. I love it!

I purchased this microwave because it was the largest one that would fit on the cabinet we used to hold our previous oven. This size of oven was very difficult to find -- this was the only make and model that fit in the space we had but still met our minimum capacity needs. Its inside capacity seems enormous for the space it takes up. We have had it for almost 4 months and have had no problems at all. We really love it and recommend it highly. I know others have complained of not hearing the bell or not being able to easily read the display, but so far it has worked perfectly for us.

Good power, very roomy, and is what I wanted. I moved from a smaller to a bigger micro, and this provides good room. 4 star only because the LED display needs you to look a little bit in line of sight but not a problem though as it performs really well with all the options and modes.

I can't say enough great things about our new micro. We have a large family and use it all the time. It is very big inside for large items. The cook time is almost half of what we were using. Buy this if you are in the market for a new one!!!

My old microwave was a Goldstar which gave a good 8 years of heavy-duty service. There were a few things I didn't like about it though. The white door-mesh made it almost impossible to see what was happening in the oven and there was no way to program a preferred cooking time for one-touch operation. Also, I didn't care for the completion tone. When the oven gave out, I immediately went to Amazon. I wanted a black oven for better visibility inside and low cost. Soon, I resticted my search to this model. The fact that shipping was free cinched the deal. My oven arrived in a big box with the picture on the front (no birthday surprise on this one), and I found the oven to unpack easily. A useful tip: Don't tear open the flaps as I did, just remove the big staples.
One reviewer commented that the buttons seem to quickly wear out. I had the same experience. After only a week of use, I noticed that the buttons were starting to "tear". However, I now believe that this is NOT the buttons tearing but rather some kind of protective film. You know how some TV screens and MP3 players have that disposable clear film on them that comes off, IF you discover it's not part of the actual screen? It seems to be that stuff. I could find no mention of it in the manual and I'm too lazy to call product support about it. I'll just let the film wear and see about getting rid of it later. In any case, I'm past warrantee. I still don't have programable timing on one-touch and I still don't care for the completion tone. Funny how cell-phones have endless ring-tone options but no manufacturer seems to be aware of how annoying some ovens completion tones are. Why not make them programmable,also?

I originally posted a negative review as the item I received did everything but generate heat. I am happy to say, however, that taking it to a local service center was quite painless and I got my oven back working great absolutely free of charge! I have no complaints w/this product and, unlike what some others have noted here, have had no problems w/the door.

We needed a family sized microwave and this one had all the features we were looking for (minute plus, well-lit clock, preset cooking for popcorn, baked potato etc).

We have been very satisfied for the past month. We noticed that it is a bit quieter than others before. We have owned Sharp microwaves before. We did research a lot before buying and considered other brands. This one had the value for the money and the size we required.

I replaced an older carousel that broke with this one. I like it as well. The preset buttons are a bit more confusing, but with a little practice, are fine. I bought the bigger model because I wanted to be able to comfortably fit a 9 x 13 pan in it, and it does. The unit fits on my microwave cart. It would take a lot of room on the counter, though, so if counter space is scarce, you may want to consider something else. I think it is a good value.
