5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Looking Clock
I bought this clock to go in my guest bedroom. Mainly because my room colors are beige, brown and green. So, this clock fits my color scheme very well.

This was not a bad clock for the first few weeks after I purchased it. The radio controlled atomic time feature is actually kind of cool and the clock was quite accurate. However, it is extremely difficult to see the display unless you are at exactly the correct angle. And then after a month or so the display started to disappear bit by bit. One day the alarm did not go off and I wound up running very late to work. Now after what I consider to be an exceptionally short period of time the display has completely disappeared. Nothing. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing any clocks from Sharp in the future based upon my experience with this one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lots of neat functions, horrible display, September 1, 2008

I picked up the slightly better version of this clock at Target (it has indoor/outdoor temp features...that version isn't here at Amazon, but otherwise they are virtually the same)...and I have to agree with the other reviewer. The display is awful. The features are great and I didn't have any trouble using it. Unfortunately, sitting it on my nightstand and looking at it while lying in bed, you could barely read the LCD display at all. Just a vague image of the numbers and whatnot. Even at eye level it's not that great. It's got a fuzzy, blurry look. The only time the display is crisp and clear is when you look down at it. And forget hitting the "nightlight" to check the time in the middle of the night. You can't see a thing. It makes this clock completely pointless to use. I'll be returning it tomorrow.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good if it works. Horrible when not dependable., June 21, 2010

I purchased two of this identical clock at the same time, at the same store from a different supplier. I can accept the display being dim, its okay because if its dim, just hit the top snooze button and the display would brighten up quite a bit. It helps save on batter power and will not overwhelm the room with a bright display during the night. Also it is better in design than the newer style of sleeker and stylist looking alarms which when the snooze button is hit, the whole alarm tips and falls over. I do like the fact that it runs on battery instead of a cord. The size and especially the dual alarm feature is so great, I just love it. Problem is that for the same model purchase at the same time at the same place, one works as expected and the other identical one extremely unreliable. The problem one sometimes resets itself off to the wrong time zone, (atomic is suppose to reset itself if you select the correct time zone). Other problem was when the alarm goes off and you hit the snooze buttons once or twice, the alarm won't come back on again which would not happen with the other identical alarm clock. This happens often. I wish there is another manufacture who makes a similar model or an upgrade of this clock.

The clock worked great for the first year, but little by little, the display started failing on me, as described by the other reviewers. While the alarm function still works, the time is not shown properly (the 9 sometimes looks like a 4 or a 1). I really liked having two different alarm settings.

I re-ordered this alarm clock when the identical one I had failed after about 5 years. I love that the time is matched to the atomic clock at Ft. Collins, Colorado each morning at 2:00am. You never have to worry about it showing the wrong time! I also like the ability to set two different alarms each day. Amazing technology for the price.

Although the prev˙ous rev˙ewers have compla˙ned about the screen be˙ng off, Y entirely love ˙t. Dur˙ng travel, m˙ne had apparently been banged up, thus develop˙ng a problem w˙th the screen. A few of the l˙nes are now permanently out, mak˙ng the t˙me a l˙ttle hard to read. Yt has never been off t˙me ˙n all the years Y've used ˙t. So super thumbs up to Sharp.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great features, December 14, 2010
This review is from: Sharp Tech Radio Controlled Atomic Dual Alarm Clock (Electronics)
I had this alarm clock for over 4 years now. The alarm clock display is now fading and no longer visible. This is after heavy abuse of frequent dropping from the nightstand. I've been looking for something with similar features but cant seem to find one that match this so I had to look up the model number from the back of this one. I use this mainly for alarm only as I have a projectile type clock for the bedroom. Battery operated alarm clock take the risk out of power outages. The nicest feature of this alarm clock is the dual alarm setting. It is a must have for me. I use one for the workdays and one for the weekends. The other nice feature is the Atomic clock setting.
