Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

With an eye to technophile detail and an ear to audiophile sound, Sharp's SD-EX200 compact/executive stereo system delivers the best of both worlds. You get a sleek, minimalist design along with breathtaking 1-bit sonic clarity from the system's ultra-fast switching digital amplifier, which performs all gain adjustments digitally. The system's streamlined look stems from its silver-finished center CD player/receiver and its dark-brown speakers. The SD-EX200 plays CDs and also includes a digital tuner with 40 memory presets providing one-touch access to your favorite music and news stations.

The SD-EX200's phenomenal 2.8 MHz sampling rate achieved by its 1-bit amplifiers produces astonishingly high fidelity. But the SD-EX200 brings you more than just superb fidelity: it also brings impressively high power. The system pumps 100 watts per channel for rich, resonant sound that belies its compact origins. The system offers adjustable bass and treble controls as well as a simulated surround-sound effect.

The system offers a stereo analog (left/right) RCA auxiliary input for your cassette deck, MP3 player, or other source, while an optical digital-audio output permits a pure digital connection with a home CD recorder or a minidisc recorder.

Features of the vertical-loading CD tray include repeat play, random play, and 20-track APMS (automatic programmable music selector). A large, fluorescent display with blue edge light is both cool-looking and easy to read.

What's in the Box
Stereo system, 2 speakers with removable speaker grilles, a remote control, remote batteries, 2 lengths of speaker wire, an indoor FM antenna, an AM loop antenna, and a user's manual.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Big Bang for the Buck, May 17, 2011
This review is from: Sharp SD-EX200 Home Audio System (Electronics)
The Sharp SD-EX200 is a fine high quality sound system for a fair price, and when you listen to the crisp, clear sound the 1-bit digital amp delivers, you would think such sound could only be produced by much larger amps or receivers. The sound is fantastic produced by this small, compact system. I have never heard any small sound system compare to the quality this system provides.
When you listen to CDs, you would think that you are in the studio listening to the performance. My only complaint with the system is that the FM reception is weak in difficult areas, and if the signal is not strong enough, stereo will not received. In that situation, the receiver must be changed to mono reception, and the signal improves. However, if you are in a strong area for FM signals, the system will work fine on radio.
For the money, this system cannot be beat and the sound quality will amaze!
