Be Sneaky!,

This review is from: Sharp VLAH30U 3" Hi8 LCD Screen ViewCam (Electronics)
The Sharp VeiwCam Series are fun cameras because they are so unobtrusive. If you want to record Grandpa telling his stories of the old days of blacksmithing, just hold the ViewCam in your lap and watch the scene unfold on the LCD screen. If you try using the traditional eyeball/riflescope type camera, everyone becomes so aware of you that the stories stop while you are stared and glared at. Remember, the idea is to capture the moment, not kill it.

Excellent value but lack of picture stabilizer noticeable,

This is definitely the best product for the money because of the Hi-8 resolution, large LCD screen, ease of use and instant fun it provides. But when using the 16X zoom, keeping a steady hand gets very tricky and the end result is very annoying when played back. Buying a second (high capacity) battery with this fun viewcam is highly recommended, because you will be using it so much ... much more than you would any standard viewfinder-only camera.

My previous camcorder broke and I waited awhile before buying a new one. I did some research and chose this camera. Its great, The best part is not having to squint into a tiny black and white hole when trying to record something. The camera offers lots of fun features that enable you to make interesting videos. A downside is it tends to be a bit bulky at times but I would rather take that over a bigger camera. And also the one touch LCD screen sometimes looks a bit dirty but only two faults after six months of great recording!
