3.0 out of 5 stars This pencil's pretty sharp!, March 31, 2000
By
This review is from: How Sharp is Your Pencil? (Paperback)
The book is a terrific compendium of various and sundry exams. There appears to be no reason why these were included, other than being eclectic. I enjoyed trying my hand at some of the more obscure titles. One thing I do know, I won't be hired as a wine steward any time soon. For less than a $20 bill, it succeeded in straining my memory and my wit. It was a kick!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gift idea for high-school grad., December 9, 2011

This review is from: How Sharp is Your Pencil? (Paperback)
I really enjoy this book. If you have ever wondered what the BAR exam is like, or how smart an air-traffic controller is, this book will tell you! I bought this book when I was applying to nursing schools, to see what the NCLEX (nursing exit exam) would be like. Reading through the different tests, I was fascinated by the air traffic test- made me want to be one! So if you know a high school senior, or someone who might not know what they want to be when they grow up- get this book for them!

4.0 out of 5 stars Another "See if You Can Pass These Tests" Book, May 9, 2009
This review is from: How Sharp is Your Pencil? (Paperback)
This is the third book I've bought of its ilk. My high school students like the challenge of these various career-related tests, but only to a point--then boredom and frustration sets in. Still, I'm a trivia buff, so these are fun for me. My only complaint is that because the book is fairly old, the tests are very likely outdated. So, if you just want something to do and you actually LIKE taking random tests, you'll enjoy How Sharp is Your Pencil? like the rest of us geeks.
