I generally get minor nose bleeds in the winter. Since I bought the Bionaire, things have gone for the better. I place my Bionaire near my bedside. Therefore I do not really exercise the remote but its good.
Here are some minor ticks with this product. It took a while for it to break in - distinct smell of plastic & paper? for the first hour.
It gulped half a tank of water on high in 3 hours and it was very noisy. I believe medium is the best mode but only during the day since its terribly noisy - not good for the night. Low mode, on a whole tanks lasts for a couple of days and sound is bearable. If you're not a deep sleeper I do not recommend this product.

I bought this humidifier in 2004 from the now defunct Sharper Image store. It WORKS WELL but the noise is troublesome at the highest setting. We set it the lowest level so it doesn't bother us while we sleep and it lasts us a little more than 2 days. The only other problem I have with it is that it doesn't have a water guage to remind me to fill the tank. I would only recommend this humidifier for people who are hard of hearing or people who live by the highway so you want to drown out the ambient noise.
