Sharper Image SI627 Ionic Breeze Plug-In Bathroom Air Purifier

I basically used it instead of a Quadra to clean up household dust, cat litter dust, odors, and smoke from a couple smokers. (The blades got coated in tan gunk from pipe smoke that I'm glad didn't end up in my lungs.) I moved it from room to room. It worked great for about a year and a half before the poor thing just gave out. The light worked, but it stopped producing a "breeze." Since then, everything in the house has become coated in a layer of dust, and I frequently have bouts of sneezing in the morning. Time to get a new one.

I am a soldier currently serving in Iraq. We get frequent sand and dust storms, and when the dirt starts kicking up, everything gets dirty. I purchased one of these for my room and i could tell the difference in air quality as soon as the next day. This last dust storm we had, i did not even know we were having until I actually opened my door. This product is amazing and i am sorry i did not discover this sooner.

My only complaint is that after you clean it, It is a little loud for a couple of days. Its not an overpowering sound, just static.

Been using one for last 3 years. Abselutely no safety problems. Good, efficient air purifier. plus, bathroom cleaner actually does work. No need to throw it away.

I bought this to try in the living room (12 x 10) because I wanted something quiet and without a replaceable filter. I didn't really expect it to do a very good job and thought I would be moving it into the bathroom, where it was designed to go. Mostly, I wanted to know whether there was anything worthwhile about the Ionic Breeze family of products and whether I should think about getting one the right size for the living room.

But this little guy is working okay. It keeps the dust way down. It makes little static popping noises from time to time. There's always a lot of fuzzy stuff on the collection grid. I'm going to buy another one for my bathroom.

I bought this for my bathroom almost two years ago and I am still as happy with my purchase as the day that received it in the mail. First of all, this little purifier doesn't take up much room and the little light makes for a very nice night light. The ionic breeze does just that. It puts out a very light breeze of clean air that you can definitely notice. The only thing that I notice is after a long shower or after you clean the rods it makes a crackling sound. Aside from that, this is a wonderful gadget.

I used to have one of these and when Sharper Image closed, I was devastated. So thrilled to get this.

I got this item 'free' when I bought two of the Ionic Breeze GP a long time ago.

Sounds perfect for the bathroom and the nice little night light was actually a good feature. But, did I notice a difference in air quality in the bathroom? Nope. The unit was for sure removing dust and 'stuff' from the air, the dirty collection blades attest to that but the blade surface area is so small and the amount of air being cleaned so tiny that it really didn't make any difference in my opinion.

These units, especially the earlier models, are designed in a way that makes it difficult to keep the whole unit clean. The collector blades can be cleaned easily enough when there is enough space to actually get a microfiber cloth between the blades. Beware the units that don't allow good access to the interior for cleaning. Lots of gunk will build up inside that is unreachable.

So, if you have a lot of problems with allergies or something along those lines then this is a worthwhile purchase - it does clean the air, the blades get dirty. Otherwise pass on it.

I haven't really noticed a difference in the air around the area that I put the product. I have noticed however the noise that it seems to make when doing whatever it does. It is constantly making a fuzzy, crackling noise. I've tried cleaning it and the noise goes away for about a day, then it comes back.

I HAVE AN IONIC BREEZE QUADRA COMPACT THAT I REALLY LIKE. WAY BETTER CLEANER THAN ORECK. MAYBE IF YOU LEFT ORECK ON HIGH SETTING ALL THE TIME, IT WOULD CLEAN BETTER. BUT THE NOISE FROM ORECK IS LOUD, EVEN ON THEIR QUIET SETTING.

BUT, I WOULD NEVER PUT AN IONIC AIR CLEANER CLOSE TO A WALL. BOUGHT ABOUT 6 OF THESE FOR LAUNDRY, 3 BATHROOMS, AND 2 HALLWAYS. EVENTUALLY THE DIRT THEY ATTRACT STAINS THE WALLS. FORGET ABOUT CLEANING THE MESS, YOU HAVE TO REPAINT.

I REPEAT, DO NOT BUY THESE IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE THESE ON A PAINTED WALL. I DID KEEP ONE FOR MY MASTER BEDROOM. ONLY BECAUSE THE RECEPTACLE ON THE WALL HAS A MIRROR AS A BACKGROUND. MUCH EASIER TO CLEAN.

I recently purchased 2 ionic breeze quadra's which came with this product for free. I had them for 1 week and returned them all, but they let me keep this thing (which i threw away after leaving the sharper image store). I was sucked in by the fancy TV commercials and hype, but don't let it happen to you. Not only has this product been tested and proven to be useless as an air purifier. It releases ozone into the air (which the manual describes as a clean mountain air smell), though it claims to be a "safe" amount of this toxic gas that it produces. some consumer reports show that in certain cases it releases more than they indicate even when used as directed.

To sum it up, it doesn't clean air and releases toxic gas. but don't take my word for it, look up some consumer reports on google.
