Mini Fridge,
This review is from: Sharper Image Hot+Cold Mini Fridge (SI714SL2)
I bought this refrigerator mainly to keep cold drinks in it so I don't have to run down stairs in the middle of the night. It's a great little fridge with lots of power and keeps the drinks pretty cold and keeps them cold quick. It's very easy to use too. All you do is plug it in and select which mode you want on the back of the fridge: hot or cold. This product does have its flaws and usability problems though. In the middle of the fridge there is a useless shelf that gets in the way so you can't store pop cans in there or anything around that size. This was my main use of the fridge, so you can see a problem here. The shelf was not adjustable, unless u just wanted to remove it completely. If you removed the shelf the pop cans wouldn't stack up evenly inside. There was also another problem I had with the fridge. After having the fridge for around 2-3 months, the button on the back would just stop working. The button would get stuck in the middle somehow and when u went to put it on cold, it just wouldn't work. I bought the fridge 2 times after, and the same problem happened again. If you want a reliable fridge, do not buy this model.

I bought this refrigerator after some research on the web. I use it in my newborn daughters room to keep her bottles cold until we use them. This sure beats going down the stairs to the kitchen at 1am to feed her and then again at 4am and then again at...you get the idea.
This is the larger of two that sharper image has. This one has a lot of space inside, nice door bins, but a useless shelf if you plan on putting anything over about 5 inches in it (it is dead in the middle of the fridge. It keeps the bottles as cold as our full size kitchen refrigerator and has a low noise level. It actually has a consistent fan noise instead of a compressor noise of most mini fridges (it uses some sort of semiconductor technology versus a compressor). This noise is actually a welcome white noise in the babies room. I would recommend this fridge to anyone looking for a medium size mini fridge.

I purchased a refurbished one for a very low price and found it to be vastly superior to others I have tried. It makes less noise than a typical personal computer and is barely noticable under the desk. Mine keeps items below 38F in an office @ about 68-74F with minimal running.
One important thing is to keep it with enough items in to give it some thermal inertia, that way it doesn't need to constantly turn off and on. The Peltier type heat exchanger is also good because anything with compressed gases requires approval on certain manufacturing sites in certain areas for obvious saftey reasons.

Super "Cool" Tool,

I'm a "kit" kinda lover, and this is the ultimate as far as I'm concerned. It cooled up from UPS package to plug within about 2.5 hours -- Admitted, I added a couple of those freezer-ready soft-gel thingies that you can place on a sore back, etc. just to make it cool up more quickly. Of course, I won't leave them in there now that it's cold -- Quite cold. The motor is virtually silent (at least at this point, and I did get a refurbished model, so this is a Very good point, in my mind). The unit truly is spacious, and I love the light that comes on, just like with a "real" fridge. If you love fun gadget stuff, this is for you. I Know it's for ME! Super Mini Fridge,

I bought this fridge for my husband for "his room". It has worked out great. It doesn't take up much room and keeps the drinks cold. He has traveled with it and even though he didn't plug it in, it still kept his drinks cold throughout his entire trip (which covered 5 states). I would highly recommend this lil' fridge.

I have had my new fridge for about two weeks and love it. I keep it under my desk at work so I don't have to use the office fridge (usually jammed and dirty!). It's just the right size for a tupperware container of lunch, a drink and fruit. I use the door shelves for keeping cheese sticks and fruit cups. The noise is no more than the fan on my computer, so I don't even notice it. Door shuts well and the silver exterior is great looking. Everyone should have one at work!

It doesn't keep stuff very cold, even when plugged in for days.
I mean, it's OK for drinks, maybe. But I won't leave insulin or a tuna sandwich in it.

Just an FYI - not a long lasting product,

I bought this product for our home office. When I plugged it in - it popped and started smoking. Apparently the fan motor "blew". I did get a free replacement from the Sharper Image store, but didn't get around to getting it out of the box and up in the office for several months. I finally did and although it made quite a bit of noise and there was condensation inside - it was better than walking up and down the stairs for something cool to drink. However, after just three months - I started to smell something burnt in our office and low and behold - it was this frig. I'm assuming the fan motor went out again. You might be better off looking into another product.

My husband and I purchased this for a vacation road trip. We don't like to be bothered by constantly finding places to eat, so carrying some food works well for us. The fridge held a lot and kept things nicely cold. It also maintained the cold even when unplugged for periods of time. It has a noticeable sound, but nothing that was a problem. The only complaint I have is that it was very hard to plug into the cigarette/12v outlet in the car. This delayed us about 15 minutes or so. It does go in, you just have to squeeze one side of the metal prongs in and put it in at an angle.

Ideal for the office,

This little fridge is perfect for the office. It's small, light-weight and doesn't make much noise. It keeps my drinks nice and cool, but not too cold. I don't use the warm function though, seems like that is just a petri dish waiting to happen. The only problems are the condensation (water will occasionally pool at the bottom, though not so much if you keep a few drinks in it) and the door. The clasp does not catch very well so I have to really push the door hard right at the handle for it to close properly. Other than that, it's totally worth the buy.
