There is no way anyone should ever buy this, I'm not sure why they even bothered manufacturing it, it is a piece of junk.

I received this as a gift, my wife was so excited. I cannot get both eye pieces to focus together, only the right eye piece focuses and the digital images are terrible, more like a child's toy camera, only 640 x 480 dots. It's painful to look through, I feel like I'm looking through a pinhole. There is no way anyone should ever buy this, I'm not sure why they even bothered manufacturing it, it is a piece of junk. I'd rather carry my larger trusted binoculars and my camera on hikes than this compact piece of crap.

This was a gift from my kids and I'm sure they bought it thinking I'd find it useful. All I can say is don't waste your money. I've bought great things from Sharper Image before, but they should be on their knees apologizing for foisting this piece of junk off on the unsuspecting public. It's not even a toy.

Absolute total trash. Got as a gift and can't wait to sell it at a yard sale. I don't know where to start because everthing is crap, the quality of the pictures, the eye piece. If you bought one, send it back and get your money back.

My son gave mi a pair for Christmas, and I felt sorry that he wasted his money, of course I couldn't return them, I didn't want to hurt his feelings. They focus only at 20ft or less, they have double vision, the controls are hard to operate, and the camera and software are worthless, they are only good as a paper weight. These have been on the market for quite a while, I just don't know how they manage to sell any more, and it's a shame. I don't understand how a big company like The Sharper Image sells junk like this. You can read these bad reviews on different sites.

I am glad to state for the record that I DO NOT own a pair of these.

I certainly gave a pair a very hard look, though!

A new in the box pair showed up at a second hand charity store I patronize. In the box were the binocular camera, with a spaghetti thin neck strap, a software CD, instruction manual, mini USB cable, and a tripod adapter, presumably threaded 1/4"-20 for a normal camera tripod.

I have no idea what kind of photos you actually get from this, as you can't view them in the camera. It reminds me a lot of an old JamCam I had way back when, with a segmented LCD display but only an optical viewfinder. In this case, it's the binoculars, though the instructions do state that the picture will be only the center of the binoculars' field of view. The LCD does tell you how many photos you have available, which will never exceed 20 as far as I can tell. Otherwise, it has abbreviations for various camera functions, which you manage through two buttons on top of the unit behind the focusing wheel. I felt the operation of the electronics to be quite clumsy, though I'm sure you'd eventually get used to it. With its advertised resolution, you would get roughly newspaper quality photos. The software CD claims to work with Windows XP or Vista, but specifically states that the program is NOT compatible with Windows 98 or Me. It does, however, claim to have some kind of rapid link feature to Adobe Photoshop, should you happen to have that on your PC already. Whether or not there's any actual value in this feature, who knows?

I put it back in the box and replaced it on the shelf. A receipt inside from Younkers shows that it was sold in 2010 at a fairly deep discount...the original purchaser paid something like $12.

My husband is always telling me that "you get what you pay for....so if the price seems cheap, IT WILL BE CHEAP!"
So with my tail between my legs, I had to admit, once again, HE WAS RIGHT!!! Please! Learn from my mistake! Spend a little more! Stop looking thru those rose-colored glasses of yours, and buy a yourself a good pair of camera binoculars!

Imagine getting these binoculars for a gift, then discovering that because you have a narrow head, you can't
even adjust them to fit because the optical block between the eye pieces cannot be made narrow enough
to fit your eyes! A waste of my friend's money and my initial enthusiasm.
