The Soap Gennie is very helpful in the kitchen and should eliminate the spread of germs that occure in the preparation of food.

The product is over priced as most ShaperImage products are and the quality is poor.

You will love this for at most 6 months. I've gone through 3 of these and 6 months is the longest one has lasted.

This is such a nice addition to the kitchen. I don't have touch anything to get soap! So convenient when working with something, and hands have dough or something similar on them - don't have to touch the dispenser. I got tired of having to pump soap out of a typical dispenser, and in the process transferring whatever it was on my hands to the dispenser. No more messy transfer to the dispenser - and then having to clean the dispenser. Recommend this. It works great. Very easy to adjust amount of soap dispensed. And can have it set for tone or no tone. This would be a great gift item.

I remember there was a time when I could tell the "high class"
restrooms apart from the others just by the installed automatic
soap dispensers. There was always something rather high-tech
about being able to wave your hand under a dispenser and have
soap delivered to your hand.

...so imagine how excited I was when I saw that Sharper Image
was offering automatic soap dispensers for the home. I could just
imagine how impressed guests to my bathroom would be once they
had soap electronically delivered to their hands.

At first look, these dispensers are handsome. They are available in
small sizes for bathrooms and larger sizes for general use in the
kitchen. They come in your choice of color, black or white.

All you need to do to set these dispensers up is install the batteries
in the base and pour liquid soap through the top of the dispenser
into the innard holding well. A small dial on the front regulates just
how much soap you want delivered at once, and with each delivery
a musical chime sounds (which can be turned off via a small switch.

I bought 1 large dispenser and 2 small.

At first, these dispensers worked wonderfully. My family and friends
were very impressed. However, within a few short months, the two
small dispensers began to act up. Many times they would stall in the
soap delivery process as if clogged. Other times, they just delivered
soap on their own making a mess on the counter top.

So I exchanged them for 2 replacements. And you know what? Same
story. These replacements worked fine for the first few months then
began acting up.

I have been through two of these already, and I have to agree with the 6 months' max use. The latest one looks like it had a leaking battery. It seems a design flaw to place the battery compartment on the bottom of a product that is designed to be used around water. No matter how conscientious you are, you can't avoid some water dripping to the base of the unit.

I have been very pleased with this product. I ordered 3 of them all together. One for myself and two for gifts. Eventually I would like to order some more of them.

This sounded so promising--a magic dispenser! Unfortunately, the promise outweighs the reality. The dispensing mechanism is so sensitively set, soap comes forth when one's hand is anywhere near it. It leaks from the bottom and the spout and can't be cleaned without getting the battery compartment wet. Wet batteries, of course, mean that's all, folks. Back to the pumps for me...

The Soap Gennie is very helpful in the kitchen and should eliminate the spread of germs that occure in the preparation of food.
However, I was very disappointed when Amazon advertises free shipping and charges shipping stating they were using another company. There is not alot of products Amozon makes so I fell they have to use many other companies.
Unfare advertising, as a mater of fact if I was not so annoyed I would order 6 more.

I have had mine for over 2 years and still works good. It stopped pumping good after a year but I took it apart and found the belt was broken. The belt is basically a little oring you can purchase at the hardware store. You can get access to it from removing the 2 screws on the top of the unit under the cover.
