When I found this item from sharper image, I was very excited because of the size. It's very small and works very well. However, I can not stand the noise. You can never leave this humidifier on if you're a light sleeper, which I am. The noise is pretty loud.. So don't get it if you can't stand a constant buzzing noise.

This was the first humidifyer I ever bought. I've since moved on to other models.

On the plus side, this model is extremely small and a full tank lasts through an 8-hour night and makes a discernable difference in a small bedroom. You can hear the fan, it is not totally quiet, but it was something I could live with. Very easy to clean!

The white dust the unit sprays its surroundings with was the main reason for me to not buy another one file a warranty claim once the fan started failing after a year and the unit became unbearable noisy.

I would not recommend this model. There are better ones.

I've used this product all last winter and was very satisfied. I run it at work in my cube next to my laptop within reach. The noise is relatively loud at startup, but within 5 minutes it quiets to a very, very acceptable level. One fillup lasts more than 10 hrs. It also is nicely sized - small.

The only con is a white residue will become apparent on stationary items of dark color gradually over time. It's not a big deal because you can wipe it off, but thought I'd mention it.
