I paid $50 for one of these reconditioned and at that price it is worth it. The 20 sounds are pretty neat and the speakers are decent with the needed output to hook it up to a better sound system if desired. It also has a wake to CD or wake to sound soother settings. It displays the current day, date, month and the indoor temperature. The CD mechanism seems a little flimsy. Unlike the other Sharper Image sound soothers, this actually comes with an AC plug. Some may find it a little large for travel, but it does come in handy when one needs the sound soothers to block noise in a hotel with loud neighbors. The CD and radio are also handy if a traveler doesn't want to power up his/herlaptop.

I've enjoyed this for 2-3 years now. Looks sharp, sounds great, gets me to the church on time... it *is* a large for a travel clock, but a great size for a travel sound system! Friends who commented on it have ended up with one for xmas, they love it too.

Although the product does have some cool features, the product does not live up to the hype. Sharper Image products are pricey anyway, but the big deal is supposed to be the "aluminum cone" speakers; well that's what they sound like, aluminum. I should have tested the product at the store first. You can add better speakers using the 1/8" stereo jack, but that's an additional expense. If this thing cost $99 instead of $199, it would be worth it. I was disappointed, and I only paid $120 because I bought it reconditioned. There are better products out there, albeit without all the "sound soother" extras, but if you care about the sound quality, you'll probably do better elsewhere.

This product would be even better if you could dim the light, it is very bright.

The first time I bought this the CD player didn't work. But after getting the replacement, I'm now very happy with it.
