I love "clicky top" pens because I never have to worry about losing the cap.

Nice wide variety of colors, though I wouldn't recommend the dark blue or the purple as a highlighter (too dark to see text easily).
Go Blue 99
I also like the slanted writing tip, so you can make a line thick or thin, just by the slant of the pen.

I love these highlighters, and won't buy any others now. I mean, I like these highlighters enough to be writing a review about, which I don't generally bother doing even for the books I'm highlighting in. However, they are not without their little quirks.

1) As others have said, some of these are closer to marker than highlights. I think the dark blue and red are fine, but the purple is far, far too dark. However, I do find it helpful for drawing figures or coloring a line on a graph for my reference.
2) My biggest problem with these is the the ink used to print the Sharpie logo on the pens themselves smudges like mad and gets on everything. I've started rubbing the logos off them as soon as I buy a new pack so I don't have this issue.

However, even with those issues, I won't use other highlighters.

1) I love the consistent ink and the smoothness of the nibs.
2) I like the clip so I can attach them to the front of a binder for short periods.
3) I like that they aren't the traditional thick shape so they fit into my smallish laptop bag more easily.
4) I also like that the tip isn't too wide, since it's almost the exact height of a line of text in my textbooks.
5) But of course, the retractable point is what really makes them great. I love not having to fuss with the cap when I hit a bit of text that needs no highlights. It also makes switching between colors a lot less of a chore (which I know sounds silly but when you are reading a few dozen cases a day, this becomes important).

Overall, in my opinion, if you need highlighters, these are the best to get. I think there could be improvements to the design, but they are still the best on the market.

I am one who gets frustrated when the print is smeared by a highlighter, so I tried these Sharpie Accents with the hope (but not much confidence) that they would live up to their smear-guard hype. Well, it wasn't hype -- they really don't smear! I've used them on HP Deskjet printouts, grocery store receipts, ballpoint pens, magazine print, and even paperback book print. One swipe of the Sharpie leaves no smear at all. Although it wasn't needed, I tried an immediate second swipe over the fresh highlight and it left only the barest of smudge. The highlighters arrive in a nice little plastic storage case. The colors remain sharp and clear since they don't pick up ink from the print. It isn't a big thing, but the retractable nub is quite handy - I like not having to track down the pen tops after I've used the pen. I've very happy with the product and recommend it.

I really like the variety of colors in this set. However, what is disappointing is that several colors are more "marker-like" than highliter. Once they dry, all colors are ok for being able to read the underlying text, but the indigo and purple are a little dark. These are more fine tipped than you big, normal highliter, but they do get the job done.

These are functional, but nothing to rave about.

Other reviews are right when they say these don't smear and work well but these highlighters also run out incredibly quickly compared to other brands. If you're someone who uses a highlighter every day, expect about 10 days out of each one.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I have a confession. I am not a fan of Sharpie pens. I don't find them useful. The point is the wrong size. I need either a regular ink pen or a broad tipped marker. I just don't get why people, including my husband, go gaga over Sharpie pens.

These highlighters are another story. I LOVE clicky pens! I don't like twisties or uncap/recap. There is a plastic guard inside the sheath to keep the highlighter from drying out. It will help, but it's not airtight. I can use a highlighter and click them open and closed and not have to worry about leaving the cap off when I'm done, or marking myself as I pick it up and set it down.

Each color in this 8-pack is distinctly different. They show well, don't bleed through, and don't stink. Having eight colors is nice because you can share with someone else, color-code your work, or just pick a color to suit your mood.

PLUS, they come in a vinyl pouch. You can keep them all together. They won't be scattered about or get lost.

I recommend them. You'll be very pleased!

These highlighters are a great buy. All of the colors highlight nicely except for the dark purple color. Other than that, these are great for the average student.

I bought these highlighters thinking that because they are made by Sharpie they would be of good quality. I was disappointed in the fact that they didn't last very long at all. I used these to highlight in a text book. I was unable to stretch the yellow to do 1 chapter, it dried out very quickly. All told, these highlighters lasted less than a week. Next time I'm going to be purchasing the liquid highlighters by Sharpie - they last much longer.

The click/retractable feature is great, and the no-smear is legit. But if you actually want to use these for highlighting, stick with the 5-pack. The dark blue, red, and magenta are too dark for highlighting. Using them to brief cases, if I want to use the last three colors, I have to underline instead of highlighting.
