I am a huge Sharpie addict. When the pens came out, I knew it was just a matter of time before they made them retractable.
The retractable has a few updates from the original Sharpie pen. As of yet, none of the outer coloring has flaked off of mine, which was an annoyance about the originals. Also, a rubberized grip gives a comfortable hold and they upgraded the clip from plastic to metal.
I can't wait for them to release more colors!

I adore these pens. I bought the nonretractable kind first, and then when the mood struck me to stock up (I do a lot of writing, so I can never have too many pens), I bought this threepack. The only criticism I have is that the pen design indicates the ink color too subtly -- I am forever picking up one thinking it is the black one and then seeing red or blue ink. They don't have to make the whole pen red or blue, but they could make the color band a little more vivid. But although these pens have only been in my possession for eight days, I have not had the breakage problem cited in an earlier review. I have been writing on a lot of cotton stationery, and the ink shows well on thicker, darker sheets without running or smearing. It is, quite simply, the perfect pen. And the rubber grip is a fantastic improvement on the too-skinny barrel of the nonretractable variety.

Great pen until the tip wears out
I purchased a three pack of these pens when the pens first came out. I did not run the pens out of ink before the tips were wore off. I finally just threw away the pens. Read more

Sharpie pens are good, but misleading.
These write well, and the retractable feature is pretty awesome (as it is in any pen) But these are NOT like sharpie markers. These will not write (and stay) on any surface... Read more
