The Sharx Security SCXSC300 card is a new generation 16 channel audio / video capture card for high performance desktop PCs with PCI-express slots. The included SecurityCenter software allows viewing and recording of up to 16 security cameras on your computer, with or without motion detection. The included SecurityPlayer software allows remote internet access. Unlike other DVR cards you can also capture 4 channels of audio and it comes with Microsoft WHQL certified Windows 7 driver which allow use with third party DVR software such as BlueIris and LuxRiot. Video quality is excellent on this card. 4 channels can be captured at near DVD quality with D1 resolution (720 x 480) and a full 30 frames per second. When 16 channels are in use the frame rate drops due to the switching between channels. If you do not have a free PCI-express slot in your desktop computer consider our SCXSC104LUSB 4 channel USB 2.0 DVR system or our SCXSC200 4 channel PCI card. Includes breakout cables for easy access to 16 video and 4 audio connectors. If needed, RCA/BNC adapters are available separately (not included). Card ships in OEM white box with manual on CD. Note: Fully supported on Windows 7 32 and 64, Vista 32 and XP. Not supported on Server 2003, 2008, 2010, or emulated or virtual versions of Windows, 64 bit Windows older than Windows 7, or any Windows version older than XP.

Cards like this for a good price are hard to find. This one is the best I have tried. Even expensive ones have quirks and work with only some chipsets. I've tried all the cheap ones from e bay and never could get them to work correctly.

This card performs as specified and the only issue I've ever had with it is how long the software takes to load. Sometimes it may take a few minutes or I may have to click it several times to get it to load. Still, worth the $$.

I use it on a Opteron x2 939 2.0 GHz server with 2 G of 400MHz ram running Windows Home Server. It runs great even on this old system. I only use 8 cameras and it records to a usb storage drive locked in a safe.

These video surveillance cards are unusual for the amateur wanting to set up their own system on a pc. This one requires a PCI-express slot but if you have one of these, then this is an excellent value card. What really impressed me was the personal support from the company. I had trouble installing my one because of a driver problem. They emailed me one which they personally prepared for me and the card worked beautifully. I haven't had it long, so I am not sure how easy the programme will be to use, but so far it looks fine for my purposes.

I was stupid and ordered this card and I don't have a PCI Express slot. All my fault but they cheerfully refunded my money when they didn't carry a card that would work for me. These guys are fantastic.
