Good Card! Best for Price!,

This review is from: Sharx Security SCXSC300 16 Channel PCI-express Digital Video Recorder DVR and Remote Internet Access Card with Windows 7 Driver and Software (Electronics)
Cards like this for a good price are hard to find. This one is the best I have tried. Even expensive ones have quirks and work with only some chipsets. I've tried all the cheap ones from e bay and never could get them to work correctly. This card performs as specified and the only issue I've ever had with it is how long the software takes to load. Sometimes it may take a few minutes or I may have to click it several times to get it to load. Still, worth the $$. I use it on a Opteron x2 939 2.0 GHz server with 2 G of 400MHz ram running Windows Home Server. It runs great even on this old system. I only use 8 cameras and it records to a usb storage drive locked in a safe.

These video surveillance cards are unusual for the amateur wanting to set up their own system on a pc. This one requires a PCI-express slot but if you have one of these, then this is an excellent value card. What really impressed me was the personal support from the company. I had trouble installing my one because of a driver problem. They emailed me one which they personally prepared for me and the card worked beautifully. I haven't had it long, so I am not sure how easy the programme will be to use, but so far it looks fine for my purposes.

I ordered this card and got an updated version, so at first I was leery. After a couple of e-mails with the seller, I got the system up and running and I just checked on it after 2 full days. The manager of the business is happy with the ease of use and I am happy with the quality.

On the Plus side, Product works as advertised, runs on Win7, Video Quality is excellent, easy install, Product support is good, These feature give it a 10/10 rateing. On the negative side the software is poor, very little bells and whistles but it does work. The lack of feature give it a 5/10. with an overallrateing of 8/10.

I was stupid and ordered this card and I don't have a PCI Express slot. All my fault but they cheerfully refunded my money when they didn't carry a card that would work for me. These guys are fantastic.

Ordered this card and put it in went through several processes to get it going and then the webviewer does not work. I had to set up the customer with VNC to get the surveillance system cameras on their pc. So me more time and processing needs to be put into developing the software. I have used every card from Geovision, Avermedia, Q see, and some off brands. I think I will stick to Avermedia they have their stuff together when it comes to a DVR card.
