To read this book is to get insight as how sexual abuse directly affects all aspects of the survivor. The author speaks with authority and compassion in dealing with the fallout and aftermath experienced when trying to cope as an adult. It also sheds new light on the many ways a survivor may use different coping skills in everyday life. I found the book to be positive and enlightening in the aid of finding resolutions and resources to help guide a survivor in finding a recovery program. The spiritual aspect lets the reader see and feel how Ms.Vates was never alone in her struggle. To know that God was there to guide her even when she felt He wasn't was very empowering and hopeful. This book would be a very good reference to help a survivor find hope and help. It is a testimony to the courage and strength we have when we feel that all is lost.

Reading this book was like looking back at my childhood and reliving the past from beginning to end. I felt like I was reading my life story, with another woman's name on the pages. She did a wonderful job putting her story into words. This book saved my marriage, me and my children. I finally agreed to deal with the past and go to therapy. Thank you Kelli! You have inspired me and helped me realize I am not alone.

This book helped me to know that I am not alone.It brought back memeiors of things I thought only I had. Just to read that someone else went through the same things I had and thought and acted like me was very healing. I was very lucky in that I got to meet this lovely Author and talk about some of the hurt and healings we went through. Your situation may be a little different but all in all they are the same feelings if you were sexually abused. I highly recommend this book to everyone who has or know someone who has been sexually abused, it will help you understand where we are coming from. I bought several copies to use as gifts for the friends I know who were abused the same as Kelly and myself.
