First person shooter which allows you to pilot a Planet Runner (kind of a huge robot). As a mercenary for various corporations you have to "clean" planets from rivaling companies and alien menaces. Single and multiplayer modes possible.

Pros:
-Graphics where good for the time and do not look all too bad in modern times. -Gameplay is great -sounds are pretty good for the time -ability to customize your own load out. -the menu select was pretty interesting, in a good way, it really tries to immerse you in the world of this game. Cons: -You need to be tech savvy to play this game, -Controls are just weird, but not game breaking Conclusion: It will not run on Windows, but you can download DOSBox, or some other emulator and play it, and that is not the tricky part. You need to be familiar with DOS at bare minimum, but if you are patient and willing to learn DOSBox does have a Wiki page that will teach you the basic, but you still need a technical background to understand how to get the game to run. Chances are, if you are interested in this game it is solely based on the reason for nostalgia and the issue with being able to launching it is rather moot to you. The box does state that it can run on windows 95, but I think not, or at least not with a virtual machine Windows 95. The game is fun and worth $5.99, just make sure you know what you are getting into before you buy it. |
