I do T25 7 days/week alpha, beta and gamma and love them all.
Allison
Compared to Alpha and Beta, there is a lot less cardio, and much more focus on strength building.
Shannon B Davis
I do still think that the overall program is awesome, and highly recommend it to anyone.

NOTE: This is a duplicate of the review I wrote for Shaun T's FOCUS T25 DVD Workout

SECOND NOTE: I just finished my T25 program, and have updated the review at the bottom with my final impressions.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

This review is mainly for the people who have completed some of the more "advanced" Beachbody programs, such as P90X2 and the Asylum series, are looking for a similar level of challenge, and are wondering if Focus T25 is the next exciting program that can further improve their fitness and athleticism. This review isn't for people who are looking to use this program mainly for weight loss, or for really busy individuals who are attracted to the program primarily for the "25 minutes/day, 5 days/week" concept. To give you a little background, I started doing BB programs last January. Over the last 18 months or so I have done: 1) Insanity, 2) Asylum 1, 3) P90X2, 4) Asylum 2, 5) P90X2/Asylum 1&2 hybrid, 6) P90X, 7) Les Mills Combat, and now 8) Focus T25. I also do an occasional Brazil Butt Lift workout with my wife, who uses BBL as her main program (I still think that High & Tight using heavy resistance bands and ankle weights is the most intense BB workout available for your glutes, hamstrings, and adductors - even more than the leg workouts from P90X2 or Asylum!!). I am a 28-year-old male, 5'11", and went from 180 lbs and 12% body fat to 162 lbs and 5% BF during that time, with massive increases in strength and conditioning.

Got the package much earlier than the estimated delivery date which was super sweet... not to mention that ShaunT is the greatest personal trainer who ever lived :) the workouts are extremely hard but I like this cycle better than alpha and beta. I like the strength aspect. Its more focus and less bouncing around. Melts off body fat even when you aren't following a strict diet regimen. I love the way shaun t explains the moves too. He is brilliant in his descriptions and analogies that help you to get your form right even without looking at the screen. Also comes with a hybrid plan mixing workouts from alpha and beta for when you finish gamma. everyone needs to finish off T25 with this program if you are serious about it. I did this workout post baby #2 and went from 189 to 150 (dress size 12 to size 6) in 3 months!! woo hoo!

I love the T25 series, but I have to admit i have mixed feelings on Gamma. I loved the BETA cycle, especially Speed 2.0. I don't feel the same at all about Speed 3.0. On the other hand, I really enjoy the challenging strength workouts of Ript Up and Extreme Circuit. The pyramid is also a really fun workout that goes by fast. Compared to Alpha and Beta, there is a lot less cardio, and much more focus on strength building. You will get the best effects (for men and women) if you lift as heavy as you can. Shawn has you do a lot of repetitions in Extreme Circuit (rather quickly) and Pyramid, so you may end up using a lighter weight than usual. Overall, I don't think you'd see great results if you used only 5 lb weights as they show on some of the gals, because you need to build muscle to burn more calories especially if you're going to lighten up on the cardio. Anyway, Speed 3.0 is super-hard with tons and tons of burpees, which I hate. Every other exercise is a burpee, and since it's structured like Speed 2.0 where you go in rounds and repeat over & over, you will never get away from that dreaded burpee exercise. I also noticed that Tania no longer modifies in Speed 3.0, so if you were hoping for an alternative, there's no getting away. I admit it - I just use Speed 2.0 - the whole idea of the Speed videos is to get your cardio in anyway, and I think Speed 2.0 does just as good of a job. You definitely will want to purchase the original T25 series to go along with this, because my favorite workout calendar combines videos from Beta and Gamma.

Shaun T has this workout to a science . I have been a gym rat for five years ; working out every day for 75 to 90 min a day 6 days a week.... And gained a pound and lost a pound .... I truly did not believe I could change my body in 25 min in 10 weeks ... Spend the money ... Oh yeah I also had a personal trainer for 8 months and when I returned to the gym ; my trainer asked me what I was doing !!!!!!

I bought the whole FocusT25 package that included the Gamma cycle DVDs. I like the Gamma workouts but am not as thrilled with them as I was with Alpha and Beta rounds. I didn't lose any additional weight using Gamma, although I did maintain my weight. I think I was probably converting some fat to muscle, because my clothes got a little looser. So Gamma is definitely effective. You would not want to try Gamma without doing Alpha and Beta first, as a lot of the moves in Gamma build on things from the earlier two rounds.

Gamma is focused on strength and I think the reason I don't love it as much as P90X3 (which I have completed two rounds of) is the speed of the program. The strength workouts are fast -- there's not enough time between exercises to switch weights or write anything down, and if you are using bands, you spend half the time for some exercises just getting set up, so you miss a lot of workout time. So it's difficult to track your progress. There's also not a lot of guidance given about what size of dumbbells to use so you may have to experiment a lot to figure out what will challenge you.

Gamma is different from Alpha and Beta in that there are only five workouts per week plus the stretch (same stretch DVD as with Alpha and Beta). There's no stacked-workout day once per week like there was with the previous two cycles. However, there are still short cooldowns after the 25-minute main workout; some of them are recycled from Alpha and Beta rounds. (And there's still a non-skippable commercial before each workout starts.) You can make the music loud or turn it off for all workouts except Speed 3.0, which is done in time with the music.

Here's a brief overview of the workouts for Gamma cycle:

Speed 3.
