Editorial Reviews

Video Description

From KIDS FIRST!: Get ready to laugh out loud as you enjoy the antics of a bunch of animated sheep. The creators of "Wallace and Gromit" will have you in stitches with barnyard animals that walk on two legs when humans are not around. In "Little Sheep of Horrors," spookiness turns to hilarity as the sheep get themselves into all sorts of mischief. You'll be so drawn into the stories, it will take you a while to realize that not a single word is spoken in the entire 40 minutes: the stories are told completely through animation and music. While most of the DVD is innocent and funny, some of the scenes might distress some viewers such as scenes with knives and sheep covered in blood (which we find out is actually pizza sauce). In one scene the shadow of an attacker with a weapon turns out to be the shadow of the farmer brushing his teeth. Still, it might unnerve some viewers. KIDS FIRST!® Child Juror Comments: "It was a good movie, and I liked it. It was really, really, really funny like how the sheep are scared and the little baby sheep with pizza sauce comes and jumps from around the couch and it was scary for the other sheep until they figured out what was happening." 40 min.; Ages 5-8.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great content -- once again, too short, September 4, 2009

Another skimpy Shaun collection. The episodes on this DVD are:
- Little Sheep of Horrors
- Abracadabra
- Things That Go Bump
- Heavy Metal Shaun
- Troublesome Tractor
- Sheepwalking

The episodes are all well-worth watching (the star-rating is for the small amount of episodes, not the quality of the episodes).

DVD also has a couple of games as "bonus features". I'd rather have the look-behind-the-scenes features that the previous DVDs had.

It looks like the "6 episodes per DVD" is how things will be working out from now on (since there are only 12 episodes left that have not been put on DVD here in the US).

5.0 out of 5 stars Shaun does it again. One of the few good shows out there for young children., August 27, 2009

There's something for everyone in this cute show about a bunch of sheep, their watchdog and their owner. No words, just a lot of hijinks and sound effects. Every episode is well done, funny and less than five minutes long. The series is named after Shaun the sheep from Wallace & Gromit's "A Close Shave," which is found on Wallace and Gromit: Three Amazing Adventures.

There's a baby sheep on the show named "Timmy" and he's always got a binky in his mouth. He also goes missing in a few episodes and a frantic, comedic search by the other sheep always ensues. The "Little Sheep of Horrors" episode is top notch example.

You won't be disappointed with this show.

I bought this video for my 3 year old to watch during Halloween. He loves it. He calls it the "Scary Shaun the Sheep Movie" I really like the inventiveness of Shaun the Sheep. We are big fans!
