In a genre with similar artists such as JT(Justin Timberlake), Usher and Omarion it's nice to have a talented producer, writer,singer & dancer come onto the scene...he also has an advantage because he's not over-exposed like other artists...Overall,he has a solid debut; but he has time to grow as an artist. My favorite tracks are:

~Just About You~ 6/5 (My favorite on the album;he should do more R-n-B ballads because they fit his voice!

~Couldn't Care Less~ 6/5 (My second favorite...nice pop ballad; I'm a sucker for the ballads!

~Superman~ 4/5 (Another decent pop ballad!)

~Get Ready 4/5 (Uptempo club joint)

~Never Change Me 4/5 (Uptempo club beat)

~Shook 4/5 (Hit single/decent beat/catchy hook)

If you like any of the artists that I mentioned earlier, then you should definitely give this cd a try.

This cd is weak, after reading these reviews i thought i would receive an amazing album. The beats on this album would be better placed on an NSync album. Someone said monster ballad Superman, well i dont know what ballads they have been listening to but its terrible. For all you people out there that know real rnb dont bother with this. If there is one good song on an album ill keep it and be happy that i have it however, this song doesnt have one.

From a guys point of view, this guy has a good voice. i really like his style. very up-beat, but also has nice slow songs. my favorite is spread my wings. keep representing the T-DOT shawn.

Wow is all I can say about Shawn Desman's first cd, it is absolutely amazing, it is one of those cds that you can listen to without skipping any tracks and just listen to over and over again. I love track 15 "Superman", its wonderful. He sings, he dances and write his own music, what more could anyone ask for! He's also gorgeous!

I really like this CD. It is one of the few that you can listen to without skipping songs that you don't like. He has a great talent as you have seen from "Get Ready" and "Shook" music videos. The CD is upbeat and makes you want to dance. I can't really compare him to any other singers because his style is unique. This CD ROCKS! BUY IT U WON'T REGRET IT!:D

Mr. Shawn Desman. I have been a fan ever since I heard "Don't Wanna Lose You" on a mix tape a long time ago. I remember thinking he has a certain clarity yet sincerity to his voice. I was interested in hearing more. the here it was. "Shawn Desman" the self-titled debut from the man himself. the CD is a strong debut and he shows that he really is very talented w/ his naturally high [yet masculine - lol ] singing voice and smooth operator lyrics, while some songs shine there are some low points as well most of the time you think you just heard that song the track before but, the good out weighs the filler.

Shawn Desman is the next big thing! He mixes smooth ballads with uptempo hip hop sounds. The CD starts out quick with Bow, Never Change Me, Yoyo, Shook. It then begins to slow down with Spread My Wings, Couldn't Care Less, and Better Than Me, which showcase his vocal talent. He truly can do it all. At the tender age of 19, he's already a successful singer, songwriter, producer, dancer. He's definately holding it down for my hometown (Toronto)!!! If you're looking for something new and fresh to pick up, this is for you.

I must say that Shawn Desman is my all time favourite singer! Every song on this album is totally fantastic, and you just want to re listen to it over and over again.
The first time i heard this album i listened to it 10 times straight - NO JOKE!!
It has a collection of upbeat RnB songs such as - 'Bow', 'Never Change Me', 'Yo-Yo','Shook', 'Get Ready' & 'Better than Me'.
And then you have the mad ballads - 'Superman', 'Just about You' and 'Difference'
All the songs have great meanings and you'll just wanna sing along.
The only thing that i'm waiting for now, is for Shawn Desman to bring out another album!

Shawn Desman is good because I like this kind of music.
Best tracks are "Shook", "Never Change Me", "Bow", and "Yoyo".
I hope his next CD becomes available in the US!

Ok....so I go to the movie store to rent a movie (don't even remember which one now) but when the one I want is all checked out, I pick up Kangaroo Jack instead, having no idea what it was going to be like. Besides the fact that it was hilarious, it also had a pretty good soundtrack. One song in particular- Shawn Desman's "Spread my Wings"- stuck in my head and I had to find out who sang it. The next day I bought the album and learned that he is already famous over in Canada. Though I'll admit theres nothing amazing on the album, Shawn does have the potential to one day be big in the US as well.
The ballads are the best part about the album, and the good ones include Spread my wings, Baby stay, and Difference.
The hip hop was no more than ok, and the best hip hop songs were Shook, and Get Ready, both full of club energy and uptempo beats.
The whole album however lacks a little when it comes to lyrics, but overall not a bad attempt for a new artist. The only thing that gets a little annoying throughout the album is his ego. Theres nothing wrong with confidence but before trying to break out into the US music scene he needs to turn it down a few notches first. Overall, I think that its a decent album and Shawn Desman has the abilities to go far after a little bit of work.
