The quality of songs in this album is tremendously

high, I must say. Included the new version of

"BLACK ON BLACK" from the movie "9 1/2 WEEKS."

This is one of albums you can listen to again and

again and AGAIN.

Lisa Dalbello's fifth album (and her second under the artistic moniker Dalbello) is another winner, although it's not as daring and unpredictable as the previous "Whomanfoursays". Here Dalbello tempers the deep, dark lyrics and mood with a slight pop sensibility. Many of the songs are more accessible to the average listener, yet still retain enough of an edge to not alienate those fans who fell in love with her based on "Whomanfoursays".

Dalbello's voice tears right through you on the best tracks, which include the fierce opener "Black on Black" with its lyrics about sex and religion; and the irressistibly atmospheric hit single "Tango", which is a masterpiece.

Some of the less-intense songs include "Baby Doll" with it's slower but steady groove; the bouncy "Talk to Me" should have been a big hit single; The horn-driven "Intimate Secrets" is an unusually perky departure; "Body and Soul" has gorgeous xylophone accents and immediately sounds tailor-made for a Heart cover version; "Immaculate Eyes" almost qualifies as '80s power-ballad material.

For those who were captivated by Dalbello's darker material this album doesn't offer as much but there's the moody "Danger, Danger" where she purrs over a finger-snapping chorus; the heavy guitar work and lyrics like "Swing your partner to the left and right" make "Imagination" sound like a hard-boiled Shania Twain; and a menacing intro on "Why Stand Alone".

The production on this album has more of a late '80s Europop sound reminiscent of Depeche Mode at times. It sounds a little more dated than its predecessor, but is still enjoyable from start to finish. Not the masterpiece that "Whomanfoursays" is, but still an excellent album from Dalbello. Highly recommended!

Talk about a voice and an amazing writing talent....this woman has it all! I swear, at times I thought I was listening to Jane Child (came out in 1990)...especially on Danger Danger. I think I now know where Jane Child got her influence from ;)

Words have been abused so often that it's really hard 2 x-press the way i felt after lissenin 2 this cd! DALBELLO is a musical GOD!(i guess when odesius heard the sirens, it sounded like dalbello) Pure music from the heart! AND "SHE" WRITES,PRODUCES,PLAYS INSTRUMENTS HER SELF!! (not like madonna and kylie, u know the media puppet's)

Just fantastic. I have nothing to add. My personal favourites are "Tango", "Talk to me" and "Immaculate eyes"

I first came across this album in Germany. Loved it then, love it now. For anyone who enjoys Euro sounds.
