It's not really Christian rap. More like...,

a Christian rapping. But it is VERY GOOD. Furthermore is currently two people: Fischer, the guy that raps, and Lee, the girl that sings (and actually sings better than all the popular singers!!!). Fischer actually writes the lyrics very well! It's even a shame to categorize him as a rapper when you listen to all the stuff other popular rappers rap about. It isn't about money and cars and homosexuals in here. Take, for instance, the song 'Letter to Myself,' where Fischer expresses having inner strength to carry on with life. Even Fischer puts it quite nicely in the song 'Twice' "Before we loved substance. Today we love sappy." We all know the good old days of old school rap, where everybody rapped about something that matters (e.g. A Tribe Called Quest)! And a lot of the other songs are about subjects I've never heard a rapper talk about before. That goes to show what an open and creative mind the people behind Furthermore have!Lee, on the other hand, adds all the flavor to the songs with her graceful and creative singing style. I'm glad she decided to be part of Furthermore (she, at first, refused when Fischer asked her to do Furthermore with him), so instead of random female guest appearances that Ja Rule and the like do, Furthermore has someone that aids in the creative processes of Furthermore. Without Lee, we would only have the Further, but we would be begging for More. Ha ha. Sorry about that. I would also like to comment on the musicianship of this album, despite it being a rap album. It's top notch! Very creative and difficult drum beats that you would never hear from a DMX record. Not to mention the bass and guitars used as well as keyboards and all the other sounds on this album. I'm surprised (and also not suprised) that Furthermore isn't more popular! Very good album. But I just don't understand why someone would give three stars just because they are Christian?!?!?

Because of all the flack I've been getting over bashing the entire rap genre, I figured I set the reocrd strait. I hate rap. But this is different. This I like. It's great. Possibly the best rap group ever. It's to good to be rap. My favorite song is Letter to Myself. It's amazing. It's emotional and I really connected with it. The previous reviewers are just weird. I can't find anything worng with this CD. This is some good stuff. Definately a must buy.

I bought this album after loving the songs "Letter to myself" and "Are You The Walrus?" I have these 2 songs on Tooth and Nail compilations and these 2 songs are definitely HITS! 5 stars. But the rest of the album does not stand up. Pity. If you have these two songs, enjoy them and don't worry about the album. If you don't have these 2 songs by all means get the albums for these two but don't have high expectations for the rest of the material.
