Book Description

The heartfelt sequel to Kindle bestsellers Faking It and Ordinary World will have readers in stitches and in tears, all over again.

Andi and David have settled happily into Andi’s Northampton home, but David wants more. He wants them to get married. Their discussion is put on hold when Wylie, a fifteen-year-old girl, shows up in their backyard, bearing news that takes David’s mind off the future and sends it spiraling into the past.

Reeling from David’s news, Andi receives a startling announcement of her own, one that leads to a relationship with her estranged mother. As Andi and her mother get closer and Wylie weaves her way into their lives, Andi finds solace in an old comfort: her ex-fiancé.

With the past threatening to eclipse their future, the timing for a wedding is all wrong. But if Andi knows anything about timing, it’s that there’s no time to waste.

About the Author

Elisa Lorello was born and raised on Long Island, the youngest of seven children. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth and eventually launched a career teaching rhetoric and composition. Elisa spent six years in North Carolina, where she split her time between teaching writing to university students and publishing her own work. She has since returned home to the Northeast.

Elisa is the author of Kindle bestselling novels Faking It and Ordinary World, Why I Love Singlehood (co-authored with Sarah Girrell), and Adulation. Faking It, translated in German as Vorgetäuscht, also spent three consecutive weeks at #1 on the German Kindle Bestseller List.

When not writing, Elisa is an unapologetic Duran Duran fan, Pop-Tart enthusiast, walker, and coffee shop patron, and she can sing two-part harmony.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read! February 28, 2014
By Deb

I ordered "Faking It" first - not realizing this was the first of three in the series. At the end of the book, I realized there was a second book, "Ordinary World", which of course led to "She Has Your Eyes." Having never read novels by this author before, I was totally captivated by her character development. "She Has Your Eyes" is a wonderful conclusion to Andi and David (Devin)'s story. It is filled with real, everyday issues - blended families - terminal illness, and what we all carry - baggage from our childhood. Learning to let it all go is, of course, so hard to do. But Lorello does such a marvelous job of walking us through Andi's struggles in a way that made Andi real to the reader and definitely one that I could relate to.
I recommend this series very highly to anyone who loves to be "caught up" in a novel so much you never want it to end. GREAT read!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Family Affair April 28, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The story of Andi & Dev evolves in this third (and final?) book. Just as Andi & Dev are getting comfortable in their lives together, a monkey wrench is thrown in. The author explores the theme of families from many different points of view, while keeping the focus on Andi & Dev. One drawback of reading on a Kindle is you don't get the physical signs that you're coming to the end of a book. I reached the end and was disappointed that the story was over. Not because the author ended the story poorly, but I liked the characters so much I wanted to stay with them longer.

Not many sequels have the kind of character growth and development that Ms. Lorello achieved with these books. Part of me would love another book in the series, but the other part just wants the characters to live happily ever after.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best... February 28, 2014

I've read all three books in his series, and I honestly think I would have been happier leaving it off with the second. This book didn't feel like it added anything to the story of Andi and Dev.

The first two books only took me a few days to get through.... This one took some effort to finish. Not my favorite from this series.

..... I read the first two books in the series and loved them. I agree with another reader who said they wished the series would have ended at the second book. I struggled with this book for a while and then finally decided to not finish it. Andi is just to whiny for me. I mean seriously... she has been lucky enough to have two men love her and she still sits there and uses them. David would have married her years ago but she no, she can't figure out what she wants. When Andrew came back in the picture that is when I threw in the towel. It looks like other people liked it so I guess it is up to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars I really enjoyed this series. February 19, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It was nice reading a story about a couple over 30. Even though every book in this series was about the same couple, each book felt totally different in a good way where the characters grew over time but still held on to a bit of who they were. I think the only thing that got a little irritating was Andi's need to hang on to her past.

I absolutely fell in love when I read about Andi and Dev (David) in "Faking It." It's got a premise that really hooks you and in the end the story impacted me long after I finished reading it. DEFINITELY read that 1st book in this series if you haven't. Because the story really unfolds from book 1, I don't recommend reading "She Has Your Eyes" first.

Spoiler ALERT!

I started out in "She Has Your Eyes" wondering how Ms. Lorello was going to pull this off, esp. since I knew from the start that David has a daughter. It started out slow (OK) although I found the daughter Wylie charming and the most interesting character in this book (Sorry Andi and David). I figured we needed some back story but unfortunately further in, the story was boring and fizzled. Andi's storyline in "getting back" with her ex-finance ended with a big DUD -- there was no threat. It was pretty tame really. And David constantly having to defend his choice of wanting a relationship with his daughter to Needy Andi wasn't the best part of him.

Andi from Book 1 is unsure and vulnerable, which seems to make her more likable for me, because as soon as her life comes together in Books 2 & 3 (thanks to David -- NOT her 1st husband Sam), she is self-absorbed and self-pitying. Not to mention demanding and passive-aggressive. Yuck.

David (Dev) could have been this really creepy character, but instead he was kind, patient and deeply sensitive to Andi. In Book 1, 2, and 3 Andi disses David and runs these side-relationships and shuts him out. In Book 2, we had to tolerate pages and pages of Andi's grieving over Sam's death. I know it's a very hard thing, very unsettling, but most of the book? I didn't find Sam all that wonderful anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read all three in the series! July 3, 2014

Have enjoyed all 3 books in the series -- not as unnerving as The Gray series but still a great study of social & psychological impacts on our life and how one can overcome through unconditional love.
