In the late 1800s, there was a major sheep and cattle "war" especially in Wyoming. Cattle ranchers each claimed a part of the range as theirs and did not welcome sheep. Tempers often flared and violence was frequent.
Thats the setting of Sheep Country, a realistic fiction story that provides an interesting glimpse into the oft-forgotten rifts that erupted. Kim Demming leaves Seattle after her fathers death to live with her uncle in the "war-torn" part of Wyoming. Caught in the midst of battle, she meets a young cowboy who authentically sees the injustice of the war. As their love blossoms, so does their strategies for winning against the cattle ranchers.
