I picked up an earlier version of this knife about eight years ago, and it's been my everyday knife since. I've used it for carpet, too, and it was great. The double-edged blade is useful when cutting sheet goods and otherwise provides four cutting surfaces per blade. The blade is locked at a perfect angle for wrist comfort and blade changes are as easy as any knife I've used. The knife body is a comfortable wright and doesn't fatigue the hand. I loosened up the hinge just a bit so I can flick it pen for one-handed use. a little oil now and then and it works a charm. I highly recommend this knife. The only drawback is when lending it to people who aren't familiar with carpet knives; the exposed reverse blade can carve up your thumb pretty quick if you don't know what you're doing.

I have arthritis in my hands and this knife is perfect for me. I can easily hold it. Although I don't use it for a carpet knife I do use it for cutting up boxes for the trash. Easy to load new blades in too. I love the fact that you actually have 4 new blades with each individual blades because of the way you can just turn them around when one edge gets dull. Highly recommend.
