I CAN ONLY DESCRIBE THIS CD AS INCREDIBLE.

WHILE THE MUSIC IS GOOD, THE RECORDINGS ARE SO GOOD, THAT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DECIDE WHICH ONE SHOULD BE THE STANDARD TO MEASSURE AGAINST THE OTHERS.

WHAT YOU CAN BE SURE IS THAT ON MY OPINION THEY ARE AS CLOSE TO PERFECT AS A REAL SESSION CAN BE.

IT WILL FOR SURE OUTPERFORM YOUR CURRENT REFERENCE RECORDING.

THE LAST TRACK, SUMMERTIME, IS RECORDED ON THE SAME QUALITY AS THE OTHERS, BUT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE PLAYERS ON THIS TRIO VERSION DESERVE TO BE INCLUDED ON THE COMPILATION .

IT IS TRULLY A PERFECT AUDIOPHILE DREAM.

YOU BLEW AWAY THE COMPETITION SHEFFIELD. GOOD JOB.

This cd has some excellent tracks. The sheffield line has been known for it's quality recordings. I am an audiophile and compete in Car Audio SQ competitions. This particular CD is my favourite on which to test my system for tuning. I listen to this quite often and find the tracks soothing while being able to be played back with awesome quality... Track 1 is my favourite track, it is great and the tune is constantly on my mind. Track 7 is great as well...... GET THIS CD!!!

I agree with others that Sheffield did a great job with sound quality. My rating results from what I perceive as track selections that lean to a 'popular' Jazzy style rather than straight ahead jazz. My original review criticized the selections - but that was not really fare - I didn't do my homework. I generally like trying out compilations - they introduce one to artists with solid standards that are well done. Check the selections out first.
