This is one of the best albums ever produced! Why you ask? The voice of Joe Cocker is perfectly balanced with the background music to create a totally enjoyable experience. There are unusual and different sounds created here. One must listen without interruptions to feel and hear the impact. I am not even a die-hard Joe Cocker fan, yet I found myself mesmerized by the supporting cast of musicians. Subtle nuances of organ, bass, electric guitar and background vocals makes this a repeat listening pleasure. This album is over a decade old but sets the standard in my mind for beautifully mixed lyric's and music blended to perfection. I have a vinyl copy and have been looking for a CD copy that will carry me forward for years of listening pleasure. My vinyl version is quite scratched but still an evening of delight. Seriously this album is a MUST listen, it is timeless and near perfection! If this group of musicians/producers has produced anything else I would love to hear.

A turnaround in Cocker's career. Definitely worthwhile checking out. While some may find it polished, the style is never too slick, but tightly controlled and right on the mark. Special mention for the excellent Sly and Robbie rythm tandem. Get it!

I had a hard time getting this CD til I looked on AMazon. I remember it from my "youth" lol, and it remains a classic Joe Cocker! So glad I have it now. I listen to it all the time, and never get sick of it.
