Maria Ewing's interpretation of Ravel's Sheherezade is wonderful indeed. Her command of the French language, combined with her naturally expressive voice and Rattle's sympathetic accompaniment make for a winning CD. The remainder of the CD is devoted to well-known compositions by Ravel.

Marvellous indeed!
