5.0 out of 5 stars Sexy, Sweet and romantic reunion - wonderful love story!, April 5, 2008
By
Marilyn Shoemaker (Seattle, Washington) - See all my reviews
Yet again, Jane Porter mesmerizes her readers with a magnificent and magical "sheikh" story, part of The Desert King series. It's a bit of a reunion love story as nine years ago, Jesslyn and Prince Fehr were lovers in every sense of the word. They were brought together by a tragedy when Fehr's two sisters and Jesslyn were in a horrible accident and the sisters were killed. The other tragedy was that Jesslyn was not only left with their loss but injuries which would affect the rest of her life, probable infertility.

Your heart will break as you take the jour4ney with them.....you'll meet his three sweet girls, his horrible and meddling mother and watch from the sidelines as secrets, lies and manipulation unfold.

Jesslyn walked away nine years ago from the love of her life, Sharif Fehr. Why? His mother hated her, told her he was to marry and that she was not fit to love and be his wife due to the fact she could never give him children. So she walked, still secretly hoping he could come after her. He did not, he married another and had three beautiful girls and now he's a widower and needs Jesslyn's help with his girls. Sharif realizes something is dreadfully wrong with the children and knows that Jesslyn is a teacher not living far from his palace. He "demands" she come to the palace, teach the girls and hopefully help them to adjust to their life without their mother. Sharif also has an agenda, one you'll learn about when you read this incredible book.

You'll love Sharif, his lack of understanding of how to be the father his girls need and how Jesslyn helps to heal and bring this family together through love and determination. It's an exceptional romantic and sweet story as only Jane Porter can write with promises of more to come in her next release, Captive Bride.

4.0 out of 5 stars Taming a King to become a Queen, November 15, 2008
Sure Jesslyn Heaton sent her sexy boyfriend away, told him she was finished with him. But that was because his mother had told her he needed children. Still, Jesslyn had hoped Sheikh Sharif Fehr would chase her down, tell her he wouldn't let her get away. Instead, he vanished back to his country, married another woman, and had three daughters. Now, though, years after Jesslyn has finally moved on with her life, Sharif is back. But she's got plans--plans that involve getting far away from the one man who can still shake her life. She won't fall into his plans, and into his arms, again.

Sharif knows he gave up too easily ten years before. His marriage had been a loveless disaster, but he's not going to let Jesslyn get away again. When a couple of her students get into trouble, Sharif drives a hard bargain--he'll keep them from being arrested, having permanent convictions on their records, but in return, Jesslyn has to give her the summer. He needs her himself, but his daughters need her even more. They're not turning out the way he'd hoped--and he knows Jesslyn can help--if only she will.

Author Jane Porter creates an intriguing story of lost love, deception, and a woman intent on having her way, no matter what the cost. Sexy Sharif delivers the standard fantasies--he's a king, he's a billionaire, and he wants nothing more than to spend money on Jesslyn. He also comes with baggage--in the form of three troubled daughters, a manipulative mother, an overbearing nursemaid, a serving girl who insists on making Jesslyn beautiful no matter what she says, and a schedule as a world leader that leaves little time for family--or for romance.

There aren't a lot of surprises in Porter's novel--but smooth writing, the characters' past, the children, and the sexual heat between Jesslyn and Sharif add up to an enjoyable interlude. Like all Harlequin Presents titles, THE SHEIKH'S CHOSEN QUEEN can be read in a couple of enjoyable hours.

I think this story is a good story. I am a Jane Porter fan and i'm not saying its good because i'm a fan but i did like the story. The alpha male in this story was was not as aggresive as her other alpha males in her other harlequin presents books, but i think thats what made the story perfect they just fit. great for the collection can't wait for the other brother.
