5.0 out of 5 stars A favorite for Sheikh's lovers!
The sparks are in from the beginning. First you have a professional and succesful heroine, Megan; who encounters a gender discrimination at her work place. Second, she confronts the hero in the story, Qasim, whom she blames for all the bad luck of the day, at the end you have a sizzling first encounter that was outrageous as it was funny.

2.0 out of 5 stars What a surprise!
Oh my gosh! I have not been this disappointed in a harlequin presents book in such a long time!

I guess my expectations must have been quite high either because of the reviews I read here or because it was written by Sandra Marton. I thought this was a painful read and didn't even ring true to my ears. I kept skipping the pages because I was so bored while...

4.0 out of 5 stars Romance Junkies says..., August 3, 2004
This review is from: The Sheikh's Convenient Bride (The O'Connells) (Harlequin Presents #2410) (Mass Market Paperback)
Sarah at Romance Junkies says: "Sandra Marton has another hit with THE SHEIKH'S CONVENIENT BRIDE. Each story in the O'Connell saga gets better and better and Megan and Qasim's love story is no different. The sparks leap off the page when these two characters are together and it is obvious that they feel more than desire for each other, though they are wary of admitting it. This is a powerful story that examines a woman's role in a country that believes women should be submissive, and though this isn't the main focus of the story by any means, it definitely is examined through Megan. Nevertheless, it is love that makes this story so great, and THE SHEIKH'S CONVENIENT BRIDE is a truly remarkable love story."

2.0 out of 5 stars What a surprise!, April 20, 2011

Oh my gosh! I have not been this disappointed in a harlequin presents book in such a long time!

I guess my expectations must have been quite high either because of the reviews I read here or because it was written by Sandra Marton. I thought this was a painful read and didn't even ring true to my ears. I kept skipping the pages because I was so bored while reading it. I will try another of Sandra Marton's and hope it wipes this off.

The beginning was very promising and I couldn't wait to read it all. I thought it lost focus, I didn't really feel like the characters, Sheikh Quasim and his wife, truly loved each other. I also did not enjoy their chemistry :(

In short, I am not recommending this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars WRITERS UNLIMITED says..., August 2, 2004
This review is from: The Sheikh's Convenient Bride (The O'Connells) (Harlequin Presents #2410) (Mass Market Paperback)
Helen Slifer at Writers Unlimited says: "Sandra Marton once again brings us to the O'Connell's family. The sparks between Megan and Caz causes a flame to grow. It has them fighting their feelings for each other. You will be able to feel the anger that Megan has as her work was taken away from her by her boss. Will Megan and Caz be able to over come their differences before it is too late? This was another love story that will have you turning the pages to see how they will overcome years of traditions. Pickup a copy of The Sheikh's Convenient Bride, get a cold drink and settle back in your easy chair and enjoy."

This is probably one of my favorites in the series. I loved Megan's story. Megan has spunk and fire even though she is an innocent. Sandra weaves a wonderful "Eastern" sheik tale set in the desert, full of mystery, fire and hot passion. It's a wonderful addition to the O'Connell series.

Sandra Marton may possibly be gearing up to give the already

excellent Krisit Gold a run for her money. A skeptical, pragmatic

sheikh who's openly seductive rather than just "romantic" paired w/

a woman is by turns both strong-minded and innocent? Deft com-

prehension of geopolitics and Islamic civilization? Can such conte-

mporary romance exist? Some readers(myself to an extent, included

will find the often extremely low-key eroticism a bit toothless, but

there is no denying that Marton and this recent breed of "experi-

emental" romance writers are answering that question with a reso-

unding yes.
